Abstract

Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is an alternative energy source that can be used for light traps. PLTS can be used as an environmentally friendly solution and provide easy access to electrical energy. The designed system uses about 10 pcs of 100Wp solar panels, 4 pcs of battery with 24V 200Ah capacity, and Solar Charge Controller (SCC). This research simulates the electrical energy that can be generated by the PLTS system using PVSyst software. The simulation results show that the PLTS system is able to produce 1618 kWh of electrical energy per year with an efficiency of around 63.05%. Based on the simulation results, it is known that the potential for reducing carbon emissions is around 1-2.1 tonnes of CO2 per year and carbon credits of 2.56-5.376 USD. With the results of energy simulation for 25 years, it can be seen the feasibility of PLTS investment with the capacity of the designed system. The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) value of 9.91% is obtained, this value is greater than the discount rate or return determined at 6%. Therefore, the PLTS investment can be said to be profitable and feasible to run.
