Abstract
Kemajuan teknologi di industri perkapalan mendorong optimalisasi desain kapal untuk mengurangi biaya pembangunan dan meningkatkan efisiensi. Salah satu tantangan signifikan adalah optimisasi desain double hull pada kapal tanker, yang harus memenuhi regulasi ketat untuk mencegah pencemaran lingkungan sesuai MARPOL Annex I Reg. 17. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan double hull pada kapal tanker dengan fokus pada peningkatan kapasitas ruang muat. Metode optimisasi yang digunakan adalah optimisasi multi-variabel dengan beberapa penyaringan pada setiap batasan. Hasil dari proses optimisasi didapatkan penambahan kapasitas ruang muat sebesar 0.87% atau pertambahan volume sebesar 366.57 m³. Metodologi penelitian mencakup pemodelan ulang existing ship berdasarkan data kapal tanker berukuran ≥150 m, pembuatan program optimisasi menggunakan VBA di excel, serta perhitungan lebar double hull dan cargo landing point. Selanjutnya, validasi dilakukan dengan memastikan desain memenuhi regulasi, optimisasi lebar double hull, dan analisis stabilitas kapal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain double hull yang dioptimalkan mampu meningkatkan kapasitas ruang muat sesuai target, dengan perbandingan positif terhadap desain existing ship. Selain itu, analisis ekonomi mengindikasikan efisiensi biaya pembangunan dan potensi peningkatan keuntungan. Penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan desain kapal tanker yang lebih efektif, efisien, dan sesuai regulasi.

Technological advancements in the shipbuilding industry drive the need for optimizing ship designs to reduce construction costs and improve efficiency. One significant challenge is the optimization of the double hull design on oil tankers, which must comply with strict regulations to prevent environmental pollution, as stipulated in MARPOL Annex I Reg. 17. This study aims to optimize the double hull design of an oil tanker, focusing on increasing cargo capacity by 0.87% or an additional volume of 366.57 m³. The research methodology includes the remodeling of an existing ship based on data from tankers measuring ≥150 meters, development of an optimization program using VBA (visual basic for application) on excel, and calculations to determine the optimal double hull width and cargo landing point. Validation is conducted by ensuring the design meets regulatory requirements, optimizing the double hull width, and performing stability analysis. The results show that the optimized double hull design successfully increases cargo capacity as targeted, with favorable comparisons to the existing ship design. Furthermore, an economic analysis indicates construction cost efficiency and potential profit improvement. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective, efficient, and regulation-compliant oil tanker designs.
