Abstract

Fenomena nongkrong telah menjadi bagian penting dalam kehidupan sosial anak muda Indonesia, dengan 24% mahasiswa rutin melakukannya setiap minggu dan 47% anak muda menghabiskan 1–3 jam per hari untuk kegiatan non-formal. Angkringan menjadi ruang sosial yang inklusif, egaliter, dan terjangkau, memungkinkan interaksi antar berbagai lapisan masyarakat. Studi ini berfokus pada penggunaan dinnerware di angkringan populer di Surabaya, dengan observasi dan wawancara pada 6–10 Desember 2024, menunjukkan bahwa peralatan makan mempengaruhi estetika, higienitas, dan kepuasan pelanggan. Pengalaman unik seperti self-service menjadi nilai tambah, namun memerlukan dukungan desain dinnerware yang sesuai. Industri kuliner Indonesia tumbuh 7% pada 2024, dengan proyeksi kenaikan 6,03% per tahun hingga 2029. Melihat peluang ini, desainer ingin membuat desain dinnerware yang tepat dapat memperkuat citra merek, daya saing, dan memperkaya ruang sosial angkringan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis design thinking, melalui wawancara terstruktur guna menggali preferensi dan aktivitas pengguna. Data diakumulasi ini diolah dengan teknik matrix 2x2, positioning, serta value proposition canvas . Informasi analisis data tertuju pada konsep desain yang interaktif, tradisional, dan simplicity dengan menonjolkan bentuk yang lebih organis. Hasil penelitian ini berupa set dinnerware angkringan yang akan membantu mengoptimalkan konsumen dalam menyantap hidangannya di angkringan.

The phenomenon of "nongkrong" (social hanging out) has become an integral part of youth social life in Indonesia, with 24% of university students engaging in it weekly and 47% of young people spending 1–3 hours daily on non-formal activities. Angkringan serves as an inclusive, egalitarian, and affordable social space, allowing interaction across various social groups. This study focuses on the use of dinnerware in popular angkringan spots in Surabaya. Observations and interviews conducted from December 6–10, 2024, reveal that tableware significantly influences aesthetics, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. Unique experiences such as self-service add value but require appropriate dinnerware design. With Indonesia’s culinary industry growing by 7% in 2024 and projected to rise by 6.03% annually until 2029, designers aim to create dinnerware that enhances brand identity, competitiveness, and enriches the social atmosphere of angkringan. Data collection was carried out qualitatively using a design thinking approach through structured interviews to explore user preferences and behaviors. The gathered data was processed using 2x2 matrix analysis, positioning mapping, and a value proposition canvas. The resulting design concept emphasizes interactivity, tradition, and simplicity, with an organic visual form. The final output is a set of angkringan dinnerware aimed at optimizing the dining experience for customers.
