Abstract

Tingkat ketidaklulusan sebesar 19,58% pada mata kuliah Kalkulus 1 di ITS Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024 menunjukkan perlunya analisis terhadap faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi prestasi akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan karakteristik capaian akademik dan membangun model pengaruh Dukungan Lingkungan Keluarga (DLK), Dukungan Teman Sebaya (DTS), Persepsi Terhadap Pengajaran Dosen (PTPD), dan Motivasi Belajar (MB) terhadap Prestasi Akademik (PA) menggunakan metode SEM-PLS. Sampel sebanyak 462 mahasiswa diperoleh melalui teknik gabungan Proportionated Stratified dan Systematic Random Sampling. Hasil deskriptif menunjukkan capaian akademik berada pada kategori Baik hingga Sangat Baik, dengan perbedaan signifikan berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan asal sekolah. Mahasiswa laki-laki dan lulusan SMA menunjukkan capaian lebih tinggi, sementara perempuan unggul dalam motivasi dan persepsi pengajaran. Mahasiswa luar Jawa memiliki dukungan sosial lebih rendah namun capaian setara, dan mahasiswa bekerja menunjukkan motivasi tinggi meski prestasi sedikit lebih rendah. Hasil SEM-PLS menunjukkan PTPD dan MB berpengaruh langsung terhadap PA, sementara DTS dan PTPD berpengaruh tidak langsung melalui MB. Efek mediasi MB tergolong penuh (full mediation) pada DTS dan parsial (partial mediation) pada PTPD. Penelitian ini mengajukan sebanyak tujuh hipotesis, dan berdasarkan hasil uji parameter dalam SEM-PLS, empat hipotesis diperoleh keputusan tolak H_0 dan signifikan, yaitu hipotesis ketiga, keempat, keenam, dan ketujuh. Model struktural untuk MB adalah MB=0,06DLK+0,36DTS+0,15PTPD+ζ1 dengan R^2 sebesar 20,5%. Model struktural untuk PA adalah PA=0,08DLK+0,26DTS+0,31PTPD+0,60MB+ζ2 dengan R^2 sebesar 53,5%.

The failure rate of 19,58% in Calculus 1 at ITS in the 2023/2024 academic year indicates the need for an analysis of the factors that influence student academic achievement. This study aims to describe the characteristics of academic achievement and build a model of the influence of Family Environmental Support (DLK), Peer Support (DTS), Perception of Teaching by Lecturers (PTPD), and Learning Motivation (MB) on Academic Achievement (PA) using the SEM-PLS method. A sample of 462 students was obtained through a combination of Proportionated Stratified and Systematic Random Sampling techniques. Descriptive results indicate that academic achievement falls within the ‘Good’ to ‘Very Good’ categories, with significant differences based on gender and school background. Male students and high school graduates demonstrate higher achievement, while female students excel in motivation and teaching perception. Students from outside Java had lower social support but equivalent achievement, and working students showed high motivation despite slightly lower achievement. SEM-PLS results indicated that PTPD and MB directly influenced PA, while DTS and PTPD indirectly influenced PA through MB. The mediating effect of MB is full mediation for DTS and partial mediation for PTPD. This study proposed seven hypotheses, and based on the results of parameter testing in SEM-PLS, Four hypotheses obtained a rejection of H_0 and were significant, namely the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh hypotheses.. The structural model for MB is MB=0,06DLK+0,36DTS+0,15PTPD+ζ1 with an R^2 of 20,5%. The structural model for PA is PA=0,08DLK+0,26DTS+0,31PTPD+0,60MB+ζ2 with an R^2 of 53,5%.
