Abstract
Ekonomi kreatif merupakan salah satu sektor yang tumbuh signifikan dalam pertumbuhan ekonomi global. Berbagai sub-sektor pada ekonomi kreatif memiliki perannya masing- masing sebagai pilar utama dalam membuka peluang, seperti mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi, membuka peluang kerja, hingga memperkuat daya saing suatu negara. Salah satu sub-sektor yang turut berkembang seiring berkembangnya zaman dan teknologi saat ini adalah seni rupa. Peran galeri seni dalam ekosistem ekonomi kreatif semakin krusial, terutama sebagai ruang interaksi antara pelaku seni dan masyarakat. Orasis Art Space sebagai galeri seni kontemporer di Surabaya memiliki potensi besar untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi kreatif lokal. Namun, dalam operasionalnya masih ditemukan beberapa permasalahan seperti dibutuhkannya fasilitas yang lebih lengkap untuk memenuhi kebutuhan aktivitas komunitas kreatif serta masih terdapat beberapa sudut ruang yang dapat dioptimalkan kembali.
Rancangan ini menggunakan metode design thinking sebagai proses penyusunan konsep hingga proses desain. Tahapan desain thinking yang digunakan adalah understanding, emphatize, define, ideate, prototype dan testing. Dalam rancangan ini, dibutuhkan sebuah konsep inovatif yang mampu memberikan pengalaman berbeda yang mampu meningkatkan daya tarik pengujung dalam menjelajahi karya pada galeri seni. Adapun konsep multi-sensory dapat digunakan untuk membantu desainer menciptakan sebuah ruang yang tidak hanya fokus pada inovasi dan estetika, namun dapat memaksimalkan kebutuhan ruang yang ada. Sehingga perancangan Orasis Art Space dengan konsep multi-sensory diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan redesain Orasis Art Space yang mampu meningkatkan daya tarik pengunjung, membantu seniman dalam memvisualisasikan karya nya, serta mampu meningkatkan ekonomi kreatif di Indonesia pada sub-sektor seni rupa.

The creative economy is one of the sectors experiencing significant growth within the global economic landscape. Various sub-sectors within the creative economy play essential roles as key pillars in creating opportunities such as fostering economic growth, generating employment, and enhancing a country's competitiveness. One of the sub-sectors that has been growing alongside the advancement of time and technology is visual art. The role of art galleries within the creative economy ecosystem is becoming increasingly crucial, particularly as spaces for interaction between artists and the public. Orasis Art Space, as a contemporary art gallery in Surabaya, holds great potential to drive local creative economic growth. However, several operational challenges still persist, such as the need for more comprehensive facilities to support the activities of creative communities, as well as the existence of spatial areas that could be further optimized.
This design project adopts the design thinking method as the process for developing both the concept and the design. The stages of design thinking applied include: understanding, empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping, and testing. Within this project, an innovative concept is required to offer a distinctive experince that can enhance visitor engagement in exploring the artworks within the gallery. The multi-sensory concept may be utilized to help designers create a space that not only focuses on innovation and aesthetics, but also maximizes the functional potential of the existing space. Therefore, the redesign of Orasis Art Space using a multi-sensory concept is expected to optimize the spatial experience, increase visitor interest, assist artists in visualizing their works, and contribute to the advancement of Indonesia’s creative economy particularly within the visual art sub-sector.
