Abstract

Konsumsi listrik per kapita Indonesia mengalami kenaikan setiap tahunnya.

Indonesia's per capita electricity consumption has increased every year. The increase in electricity consumption inevitably has an impact on the need for power generation fuels, which mostly come from fossil energy sources. The availability of fossil fuels will continue to decrease due to the formation process that takes millions of years where this does not go hand in hand with the increase in fuel consumption for power plants. Solar power plants are one solution to the problem where light energy from the sun is converted into electrical energy using solar cells which are low emission and renewable energy sources. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, as one of the leading higher education institutions in Indonesia, is committed to contributing to the energy transition efforts towards the use of environmentally friendly renewable energy. The installation of solar panels in the Department of Mechanical Engineering ITS will be an important step in utilising the potential of solar energy in Indonesia and realising a sustainable campus. But before the installation of solar panels on buildings in the area, further research is needed on the plan. Research results show that the most optimal solar power plant configuration uses Tongwei Solar panels with a panel tilt angle of 25°, capable of producing 378,847 MWh/year of energy. The total cost required to build the solar PV system is Rp4.298.354.270, with a payback period of 6,93 years and a cost of energy of Rp767,43/kWh
