Abstract
Proses perancangan museum ini menerapkan concept-based framework.

Digital placemaking has recently emerged as a form of digital technology intervention in the placemaking process. It influences the formation of a “sense of place,” which relates to identity, attachment, and memory of a place, both physically and virtually. Communication may occur through telepresence; however, it can lead to disconnection from real-world relationships. Ideally, virtual communities should be able to evoke a sense of place, history, and social interaction within a physical environment.
This theoretical problem is positioned in the context of social isolation experienced by former prisoners, who require community support in the process of social reintegration. A narrative that supports this process is presented through interaction between former prisoners (storytellers) and the public (users) via telepresence, where users are able to grasp the stories effectively through interactive experiences with digital technology. These interactive experiences are formed through multisensory engagement, which in turn generates perception of a place. The museum is chosen as a typology capable of delivering such narratives in an educational format and reaching a broader audience. he design process of the museum adopts a concept-based framework. The perception that supports social reintegration is presented through a narrative architectural approach integrated with digital technology and multisensory elements. The narrative is delivered through design elements that prioritize visual sensories, supported by audio, to enable interaction between users and digital technology. Telepresence in digital placemaking aims to evoke a sense of place to support social reintegration through the museum typology, using projected images and interactive screens within spaces integrated with the arrangement of key architectural elements such as walls, materials, and lighting. The walls are integrated with digital projection media, the materials represent the transition of the prison from past to present, while the lighting is arranged either centrally or diffusely in accordance with the concepts of privacy and sense of belonging.
