Abstract

The measurement system in Energy and Mineral Resources companies is developing very rapidly along with the development of technology, especially in the LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer) meter system which aims to improve reliability and high accuracy of fluid volume and quality. Analog-mechanical system equipment and measurements in the operation of the previous LACT model have a high potential for system failure and several errors in the measuring instrument due to: calibration errors (inaccurate scale values), zero point errors (parallax errors), fatigue of components or measuring instrument materials (mechanical), work environment conditions and manual calculations that are prone to errors. Implementation of new technology can improve measurement accuracy and reliability, reduce the frequency of calibration of ATG (Automatic Temperature Gravity) equipment, and enable real-time monitoring. The methods used include cost-benefit analysis with a combination of FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis) analysis, fishbone diagram analysis and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats) so that this LACT system upgrade program provides operational cost savings and increases company revenue through technological improvements in meter components. The LACT meter system update not only has an impact on increasing efficiency and effectiveness, but safety standards in managing custody transfer operations are also a priority for the company.
