Abstract

Kabupaten Temanggung menempati urutan ketiga sebagai wilayah dengan lahan kritis terluas di Jawa Tengah, dengan tingkat pertumbuhan lahan kritis yang cukup tinggi setiap tahunnya. Kondisi ini menjadi ancaman bagi keberlanjutan fungsi ekologis, produktivitas pertanian, dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah rehabilitasi lahan kritis melalui tanaman tahunan, salah satunya adalah tanaman kopi. Tanaman kopi memiliki potensi konservasi yang kuat serta nilai ekonomi tinggi. Laju peningkatan lahan kritis di Kabupaten Temanggung termasuk yang tertinggi, mengalami peningkatan sebesar 16% sejak tahun 2018, sehingga ini merupakan permasalahan serius, yang apabila tidak segera direhabilitasi dapat mengalami peningkatan luas yang signifikan. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan arahan rehabilitasi lahan kritis berbasis spasial melalui tanaman kopi di Kabupaten Temanggung. Tahapan pertama adalah identifikasi dan klasifikasi lahan kritis menggunakan metode spasial overlay dan skoring. Tahapan kedua adalah penentuan kesesuaian lahan kopi arabika dan kopi robusta melalui metode spasial overlay dan matching. Tahapan ketiga adalah penentuan arahan rehabilitasi lahan kritis dengan metode overlay dan deskriptif kualitatif. Diperoleh luas lahan kritis (agak kritis, kritis, dan sangat kritis) yang perlu direhabillitasi seluas 62.035 ha. Kelas kesesuaian lahan (S2) kopi robusta dengan luas 62.798 ha dan kopi arabika sejumlah 13.847 ha. Tanaman kopi dapat menjadi solusi rehabilitasi pada area prioritas lahan kritis, terkhusus melalui sistem agroforestri kopi, yang dapat diterapkan pada pola ruang hortikultura, perkebunan, dan tanaman pangan, di 20 kecamatan yang ada di Kabupaten Temanggung.

Temanggung Regency ranks third among regions with the largest extent of critical land in Central Java, experiencing a relatively high annual growth in critical land area. This condition poses a serious threat to the sustainability of ecological functions, agricultural productivity, and community welfare. One potential mitigation effort is the rehabilitation of critical land through perennial crops, notably coffee. Coffee plants have strong conservation potential as well as high economic value. The rate of critical land expansion in Temanggung is among the highest, increasing by 16% since 2018. This issue, if not addressed promptly, may lead to a significant escalation in critical land area. Therefore, this study aims to formulate spatially-based rehabilitation strategies for critical land using coffee cultivation in Temanggung Regency. The first stage involves identifying and classifying critical land using spatial overlay and scoring methods. The second stage determines land suitability for Arabica and Robusta coffee using spatial overlay and matching techniques. The third stage formulates rehabilitation strategies through overlay analysis and qualitative descriptive methods. The study identified 62,035 hectares of critical land (categorized as slightly critical, critical, and severely critical) requiring rehabilitation. The land classified as moderately suitable (S2) covers 62,798 hectares for Robusta coffee and 13,847 hectares for Arabica coffee. Coffee cultivation offers a viable rehabilitation solution for priority critical land areas, particularly through agroforestry systems. These systems can be integrated into spatial land use patterns such as horticulture, plantation, and food crops across 20 sub-districts in Temanggung Regency.
