Abstract
Pertumbuhan jumlah Gen Z di Kota Surabaya diprediksi semakin meningkat. Berdasarkan sensus penduduk 2020, jumlah Gen Z di Kota Surabaya sebanyak 920.363 jiwa dan diperkirakan bertambah seiring tren urbanisasi ke kota besar. Lonjakan populasi Gen Z ini berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan kepemilikan kendaraan bermotor, mengingat pada tahun 2024 Provinsi Jawa Timur memiliki 26,52 juta kendaraan, dengan Surabaya menyumbang sebesar 10,91% dari total kendaraan bermotor. Meskipun potensi kepemilikan meningkat, daya beli relatif terbatas, terutama di kalangan mahasiswa dan pekerja, terjadi penurunan penjualan mobil nasional sebesar 9,7% di tahun 2024. Akibatnya, ketidakseimbangan antara kebutuhan mobilitas dan keterbatasan ekonomi menjadi tantangan penting dalam perencanaan transportasi publik yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan di Surabaya. Sehingga penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perilaku perjalanan Gen Z di Kota Surabaya menggunakan pendekatan mobility biography. Tahapan pertama adalah mengidentifikasi perilaku perjalanan Gen Z berdasarkan fase transisi kehidupan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Tahapan selanjutnya adalah melakukan analisis faktor-faktor transisi kehidupan yang mempengaruhi perilaku perjalanan Gen Z menggunakan uji beda sampel berpasangan dengan tools SPSS. Tahapan terakhir adalah melakukan analisis menggunakan Confirmatory Factor Analysis dan skoring untuk merumuskan tipologi perilaku perjalanan Gen Z. Terdapat empat jenis tipologi yang terbentuk, yaitu pemilihan moda tetap pada ketiga fase pendidikan menengah ke pendidikan tinggi, pendidikan tinggi ke bekerja, dan bekerja ke menikah. Sementara itu terjadi jadi perubahan pemilihan moda pada saat fase transisi menikah ke memiliki anak. Variabel berpengaruh yang terbentuk pada tipologi tetap adalah usia, pekerjaan, pendapatan/uang saku, kepemilikan kendaraan pribadi, jarak menuju layanan angkutan umum, ketersediaan transportasi umum, dan ketersediaan pedestrian, kenyamanan, keamanan, keandalan, dan waktu tempuh perjalanan. Sementara itu, variabel berpengaruh yang terbentuk pada tipologi berubah adalah usia, pendidikan, pekerjaan, struktur rumah tangga, jarak menuju layanan angkutan umum, ketersediaan transportasi umum, ketersediaan pedestrian, kenyamanan, keamanan, keandalan, dan biaya perjalanan.

The growth of the Gen Z population in the city of Surabaya is predicted to continue increasing. Based on the 2020 population census, the number of Gen Z in the city of Surabaya is 920,363 people and is expected to increase along with the trend of urbanization to major cities. The surge in the Gen Z population has influenced the growth of motor vehicle ownership, considering that in 2024, East Java Province has 26.52 million vehicles, with Surabaya contributing 10.91% of the total motor vehicles. Despite the increased ownership potential, purchasing power remains relatively limited, especially among students and workers, leading to a 9.7% decline in national car sales in 2024. As a result, the imbalance between mobility needs and economic limitations becomes a significant challenge in planning inclusive and sustainable public transportation in Surabaya. Therefore, this research was conducted to understand the travel behavior of Gen Z in the city of Surabaya using a mobility biography approach. The first stage is to identify Gen Z travel behavior based on life transition phases using descriptive statistics. The next stage is to analyze the life transition factors that influence Gen Z travel behavior using paired sample t-test with SPSS tools. The final stage is to conduct an analysis using Confirmatory Factor Analysis and scoring to formulate the typology of Gen Z travel behavior. There are four types of typologies that are formed, namely the choice of mode remains the same in the three phases: from secondary education to higher education, from higher education to working, and from working to marriage. Meanwhile, there is a change in the choice of mode during the transition phase from marriage to having children. The influential variables formed in the stable typology are age, occupation, income/pocket money, ownership of personal vehicles, distance to public transport services, availability of public transport, and availability of pedestrian pathways, comfort, safety, reliability, and travel time. Meanwhile, the influential variables formed in the changing typology are age, education, occupation, household structure, distance to public transport services, availability of public transport, availability of pedestrian pathways, comfort, safety, reliability, and travel cost.
