Abstract

Sebagai bagian dari proses akademik, mahasiswa diwajibkan untuk menjalani praktik kerja guna menguji penerapan teori dan keterampilan yang telah diperoleh selama perkuliahan. Departemen Statistika Bisnis Fakultas Vokasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menetapkan magang sebagai mata kuliah wajib berbobot 14 SKS yang dilaksanakan selama empat bulan, dengan ketentuan mahasiswa telah menyelesaikan minimal 90 SKS dan berstatus aktif. Program magang ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan teori dengan praktik nyata di dunia usaha dan industri, serta membekali mahasiswa dengan pengalaman langsung melalui tempat kerja (experiential learning). Selama magang, mahasiswa diharapkan dapat mengembangkan kemampuan teknis seperti problem solving dan analytical skills, serta keterampilan non-teknis seperti etika kerja, komunikasi, dan kolaborasi. Kegiatan ini menjadi sarana penting untuk memadukan pengetahuan akademik dengan pelatihan lapangan, sebagai bekal menghadapi tantangan dunia profesional. Sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi, ITS berkomitmen untuk mencetak lulusan yang mampu berkontribusi positif dalam masyarakat dengan memperkuat kompetensi akademik dan profesional melalui pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, serta peningkatan soft skills dan hard skills mahasiswa. Pelaksanaan magang ini dilakukan di PT Sanghiang Perkasa (Kalbe Nutritionals).

As part of the academic process, students are required to undergo work experience to test the application of the theory and skills they have acquired during their studies. The Department of Business Statistics, Faculty of Vocational Studies, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), has established internships as a mandatory course, worth 14 credits, which are carried out over four months, provided that students have completed a minimum of 90 credits and are active. This internship program aims to integrate theory with real-world practice in the business and industrial world, as well as equip students with direct experience through the workplace (experiential learning). During the internship, students are expected to develop technical skills such as problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as non-technical skills such as work ethic, communication, and collaboration. This activity is an important means of combining academic knowledge with field training, as a provision for facing the challenges of the professional world. As a higher education institution, ITS is committed to producing graduates who are able to contribute positively to society by strengthening academic and professional competencies through the development of science, technology, and improving students' soft and hard skills. This internship was carried out at PT Sanghiang Perkasa (Kalbe Nutritionals).
