Abstract

Space Architecture adalah teori yang melihat bagaimana bangunan di luar angkasa seharusnya dibangun dengan prinsip Livability dalam menghadirkan ruang semaksimal mungkin, Usability dalam memberikan fasilitas menunjang dan Flexibility dalam memberikan fleksibilitas yang memungkinkan adaptasi pada perubahan. Prinsip-prinsip ini kemudian digunakan dalam melakukan perancangan sebuah laboratorium, dengan tujuan untuk memfasilitasi keingintahuan manusia yang lebih tentang bulan kita. Menggunakan kerangka Force-based Framework oleh Plowright, merespon lingkungan ekstrim bulan yakni tidak ada oksigen, keadaan atmosfer yang vakum, suhu dan radiasi ekstrim, pergerakan matahari yang dapat mempengaruhi kehidupan manusia ketika berada di bulan. Perancang melakukan berbagai eksplorasi dan iterasi melalui analisa daring, serta sketsa dan permodelan tiga dimensi dalam menghasilkan rancangan. Lunar Lab, adalah modul-modul berbagai aktivitas yang ditutupi oleh regolith yang mampu secara mandiri memanfaatkan matahari dalam menghasilkan listrik, dengan pertimbangan penggunaan tangga vertikal sebagai akses vertikal utama, yang dimana memfasilitasi kegiatan penelitian di permukaan bulan, tepatnya di kutub selatan. =========================================================================================================================================
Space Architecture is a theoretical approach that examines how buildings in outer space should be designed based on the principles of Livability to maximize space, Usability to provide supporting facilities, and Flexibility to allow adaptability to change. These principles are then applied in the design of a laboratory, with the aim of facilitating humanity’s deeper curiosity and understanding of our Moon. Using the Force-based Framework by Plowright, this approach responds to the Moon’s extreme environment, such as the absence of oxygen, a vacuum atmosphere, extreme temperatures and radiation, and the movement of the Sun that affects human life on the Moon. The design process involved a series of explorations and iterations carried out through online analysis, sketching, and three-dimensional modeling to generate the final proposal. Lunar Lab is a series of activity modules covered with regolith, capable of independently harnessing solar energy to generate electricity. The design considers the use of vertical stairs as the primary means of vertical circulation, facilitating research activities on the lunar surface especially at the moon’s south pole.
