Abstract

Pemanfaatan batang pisang yang selama ini belum optimal sebagai limbah pertanian, padahal memiliki potensi besar sebagai pakan ternak ikan gurame. Limbah batang pisang mengandung berbagai nutrisi yang bermanfaat, namun untuk dijadikan pakan, batang tersebut harus dicacah terlebih dahulu. Pencacahan manual yang biasanya dilakukan memiliki kelemahan dalam perlunya tenaga manusia serta membutuhkan waktu yang lebih banyak. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan mesin pencacah batang pisang yang efisien dan praktis, serta dapat menghasilkan cacahan sesuai kebutuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi perancangan dan pembuatan mesin pencacah dengan komponen utama seperti mikrokontroler Arduino Mega 2560, sensor Hall Effect untuk mendeteksi kecepatan putaran, sensor temperature MLX90614, dan TFT LCD sebagai display. Mesin ini dirancang untuk dapat mengatur kecepatan pencacahan dengan menggunakan Inverter Variable Frequency Drive, sehingga mampu menghasilkan berbagai jenis cacahan. Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah tersedianya mesin pencacah batang pisang yang dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas peternak dalam menyediakan pakan ternak, khususnya ikan gurame, serta mengurangi limbah pertanian yang tidak termanfaatkan.

The utilization of banana stems has not been optimal as agricultural waste, even though it has great potential as feed for carp. Banana stem waste contains various beneficial nutrients, but to be used as feed, the stems must be chopped first. The manual enumeration that is usually done has the disadvantage of requiring human labor and takes more time. Therefore, this study aims to design and implement a banana stem chopping machine that is efficient and practical, and can produce chopped stems as needed. The method used in this research includes the design and manufacture of a chopping machine with main components such as an Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller, Hall Effect sensor to detect rotation speed, MLX90614 temperature sensor, and TFT LCD as a display. This machine is designed to be able to adjust the chopping speed using an Inverter Variable Frequency Drive, so as to produce various types of chopping. The results obtained from this research are the availability of a banana stem chopping machine that can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of farmers in providing animal feed, especially carp, and reduce unutilized agricultural waste.
