Abstract
Desain arsitektur lahir dari ide, konteks, dan kebutuhan pengguna. Tugas akhir ini mengeksplorasi dua proyek dengan latar berbeda: hunian modern-tropis yang terintegrasi dengan home bakery di Banjarbaru (WKF House & Jiya Kitchen) dan rumah tinggal modern minimalis di Surabaya (Rumah Tinggal Virgin Gorda). Pada WKF House & Jiya Kitchen, tantangan utama yang dihadapi adalah menggabungkan fungsi rumah tinggal keluarga dengan area komersial skala kecil tanpa mengorbankan privasi dan kenyamanan penghuni. Desain menerapkan konsep modern tropis dengan pendekatan open-plan, memaksimalkan pencahayaan alami, ventilasi silang, dan integrasi ruang hijau sebagai elemen kenyamanan termal. Di proyek kedua, Rumah Tinggal Virgin Gorda pada optimalisasi lahan memanjang di kawasan perumahan eksklusif dengan pendekatan modern minimalis. Penataan ruang mengedepankan efisiensi, keterbukaan visual, dan kesinambungan antara ruang dalam dan ruang luar yang mendukung kenyamanan termal pasif dan menciptakan ‘Ilusi Ruang’yang membuat ruang terasa lebih lega. Kedua proyek menerapkan 13 kompetensi Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI) sebagai panduan utama, mulai dari penguasaan konsep perancangan, penerapan standar teknis, hingga pengelolaan proyek yang efektif. Melalui penerapan kompetensi ini, dihasilkan desain yang tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan fungsional dan estetika, tetapi juga memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap lingkungan hunian dan kualitas hidup penggunanya.

Architectural design emerges from ideas, context, and user needs. This final project explores two distinct works: a modern-tropical residence that integrated with a home bakery in Banjarbaru (WKF House & Jiya Kitchen) and a modern minimalist residence in Surabaya (Virgin Gorda Residence). The main design challenge of WKF House & Jiya Kitchen is combining a family residence with a small-scale commercial area, ensuring that privacy and comfort were preserved. The design adopts a modern tropical concept with an open-plan approach, maximizing natural lighting, cross-ventilation, and integrating green spaces as key elements of thermal comfort. In the second project, Virgin Gorda Residence focuses on optimizing a long site in an exclusive residential area through a modern minimalist approach. The spatial arrangement emphasizes efficiency, visual openness, and continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces, supporting passive thermal comfort and creating a spatial illusion that makes the interior feel more spacious. Both projects implement the 13 competencies of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) as core guidelines, which include mastery of design concepts, adherence to technical standards, and effective project management. Through the application of these competencies, the designs not only fulfill functional and aesthetic requirements but also positively contribute positively to the residential environment and enhance the quality of life for the user.
