Abstract

Modernisasi arsitektur yang pesat sejak tahun 1990-an telah menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang hilangnya individualitas dan homogenisasi desain. Hal ini mendorong Kenneth Frampton untuk mengusulkan Regionalisme Kritis sebagai tindakan balasan terhadap keseragaman global yang bermula pada praktik arsitektur pasca-Perang Dunia II. Teori ini mengusulkan penyambungan kembali arsitektur dengan konteks lokalnya, yang menumbuhkan identitas regional dan harmoni lingkungan.
Proyek akhir ini menerapkan teori Regionalisme Kritis Kenneth Frampton pada desain gedung konser sebagai tipologi di sektor industri kreatif IKN. Gedung konser tersebut bertujuan untuk mewujudkan budaya lokal dan kepekaan lingkungan, yang mencerminkan identitas nasional dan subnasional melalui material, bentuk, dan tekstur yang spesifik lokasi. Penekanan Regionalisme Kritis pada penghubungan arsitektur dengan konteks budaya dan lingkungannya sejalan dengan tujuan IKN untuk melestarikan identitas nasional dan mendukung pertumbuhan berkelanjutan (UU No. 3 Tahun 2022 Pasal 22).
Dengan menciptakan ruang yang menyeimbangkan kekhasan daerah dan kebutuhan modern, desain gedung konser ini menyediakan cetak biru untuk arsitektur yang beresonansi secara budaya dan bertanggung jawab secara ekologis, menumbuhkan rasa kebersamaan, dan mendukung peran IKN sebagai katalisator pertumbuhan ekonomi dan budaya. Bangunan ini juga diharapkan mampu memperkenalkan budaya Indonesia melalui pasar industri kreatif, lebih tepatnya pertunjukan, dan pengunjung dapat merasakan lokalitas dan konteksnya tidak hanya secara fisik, tetapi juga rasa tempatnya.

The rapid modernization of architecture since the 1990s has raised concerns about the loss of individuality and homogenization of design. This prompted Kenneth Frampton to propose Critical Regionalism as a countermeasure to the global uniformity that originated in post-World War II architectural practice. This theory proposes a reconnection of architecture with its local context, fostering regional identity and environmental harmony.
This final project applies Kenneth Frampton’s Critical Regionalism theory to the design of a concert hall as a typology in the creative industry sector of the IKN. The concert hall aims to embody local culture and environmental sensitivity, reflecting national and subnational identities through site-specific materials, forms, and textures. Critical Regionalism’s emphasis on connecting architecture with its cultural and environmental context is in line with the IKN’s goal of preserving national identity and supporting sustainable growth (UU No. 3 Tahun 2022 Pasal 22).
By creating a space that balances regional distinctiveness and modern needs, the concert hall design provides a blueprint for culturally resonant and ecologically responsible architecture, fostering a sense of community, and supporting the IKN’s role as a catalyst for economic and cultural growth. This building is also expected to be able to introduce Indonesian cultures through the creative industry market, more precisely performances, and visitors can feel the locality and context not only physically, but also the sense of place.
