Abstract

Industri petrokimia, khususnya dalam sektor produksi amoniak, memiliki peran strategis dalam mendukung ketahanan pangan nasional melalui penyediaan pupuk berbasis nitrogen. Kompleksitas proses serta keterlibatan bahan kimia berbahaya menjadikan manajemen risiko sebagai aspek krusial dalam menjaga keselamatan dan keberlangsungan operasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menganalisis, mengevaluasi dan memprioritaskan potensi kegagalan pada proses produksi amoniak di Pabrik 5 PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur menggunakan pendekatan Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (Fuzzy-FMEA). Metode ini digunakan untuk mengatasi keterbatasan FMEA konvensional dalam menangani ketidakpastian dan subjektivitas penilaian, dengan mengonversi parameter severity, occurrence, dan detection ke dalam bentuk triangular fuzzy numbers. Hasil defuzzifikasi menghasilkan nilai Fuzzy Risk Priority Number (FRPN) yang digunakan sebagai dasar penentuan prioritas mitigasi risiko. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa komponen proses memiliki nilai FRPN tinggi dan termasuk dalam kategori risiko ekstrem. Rekomendasi mitigasi disusun berdasarkan pemetaan risiko dalam risk matrix serta analisis kelayakan menggunakan pendekatan benefit-cost ratio. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan dalam penguatan sistem manajemen risiko untuk meningkatkan keselamatan kerja dan efisiensi operasional secara berkelanjutan.

The petrochemical industry, particularly in the ammonia production sector, plays a strategic role in supporting national food security through the provision of nitrogen-based fertilizers. The complexity of the process and the involvement of hazardous chemicals make risk management a crucial aspect in maintaining safety and operational sustainability. This study aims to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential failures in the ammonia production process at Plant 5 of PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur using the Fuzzy Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (Fuzzy-FMEA) approach. This method is used to address the limitations of conventional FMEA in handling uncertainty and subjectivity in assessment by converting severity, occurrence, and detection parameters into triangular fuzzy numbers. The defuzzification results yield Fuzzy Risk Priority Numbers (FRPN), which are used as the basis for determining risk mitigation priorities. The research findings indicate that some process components have high FRPN values and fall into the extreme risk category. Mitigation recommendations are developed based on risk mapping in the risk matrix and feasibility analysis using the benefit-cost ratio approach. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for strengthening the risk management system to enhance workplace safety and operational efficiency sustainably.
