Abstract

This system design aims to develop a trajectory guidance system that considers the influence of weather conditions as the main factor in ship maneuver recommendations, specifically in terms of propeller speed and rudder heading. The strategic role of sea transportation in supporting inter-island connectivity has increased both the frequency and intensity of ship traffic. Weather conditions significantly affect the dynamics of ship maneuvers, presenting considerable challenges in navigation management and increasing the potential risk of accidents. This research employs a numerical simulation method using the MMG (Maneuvering Mathematical Group) ship dynamics model, integrating weather condition variables as primary parameters in ship maneuver recommendations. The results of the system implementation showed that the simulation using the Norwegian Jewel ship data, which is the ship with the largest main dimension visiting the port in 2024, resulted in an average deviation value of 356.86 meters. The second simulation using data from the AU Virgo, the ship with the highest frequency of visits to Tanjung Perak Port, obtained an average deviation value of 308.24 meters. These results show the significant influence of weather conditions and the principal dimensions of the ship on maneuvering recommendations and the degree of deviation of the ship's trajectory from the set trajectory.
