Abstract

Tingginya angka keterlibatan anak-anak dalam tindak kriminalitas di Indonesia menjadi indikator bahwa implementasi pendidikan karakter masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan. Berdasarkan data infografis KPAI per 31 Agustus 2020 (Maradewa, 2020), tercatat sebanyak 42.565 kasus amoral yang melibatkan anak, dengan 1.210 kasus terjadi di wilayah Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Menanggapi hal itu, pemerintah mengintegrasikan Program Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam sistem pendidikan nasional. Program ini dirancang untuk menanamkan enam dimensi utama karakter, yaitu keimanan dan ketakwaan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa serta akhlak mulia, kebhinekaan global, semangat gotong royong, kemandirian, kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan kreativitas.
Namun, penelitian menunjukkan adanya kendala dalam implementasi program ini, salah satunya adalah kurangnya media pembelajaran yang menarik bagi anak-anak. Perancangan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan sebuah media edukasi yang efektif dan menarik bagi anak usia 8-9 tahun dalam memahami dan mengimplementasikan nilai-nilai Profil Pelajar Pancasila dalam kehidupan sehari-hari serta memperluas pengetahuan anak tentang kebudayaan Indonesia. Metode perancangan yang digunakan meliputi studi literasi, analisis produk eksisting, studi komparatif, depth interview, studi eksperimental, hingga proses desain.
Hasil dari proses perancangan ini berupa sebuah buku cerita anak bergambar dengan ilustrasi bergaya kartun 2D, yang terdiri atas enam bagian. Empat di antaranya dipilih untuk dicetak sebagai prototipe. Setiap bagian mengangkat tema berbeda yang merepresentasikan masing-masing dimensi dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila.
Berdasarkan hasil uji coba pengguna (user testing) yang dilaksanakan di SDN Tambakoso melalui tiga tahapan pre-test, pembacaan prototipe buku, dan post-test yang menunjukkan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,77, menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi. Selain itu, evaluasi dari seorang pendidik tingkat sekolah dasar yang menyebutkan bahwa penyajian buku ini yang inovatif dan efektif untuk anak usia 8-9 tahun turut menguatkan validitas rancangan ini sebagai media pembelajaran karakter berbasis Profil Pelajar Pancasila.

The high incidence of children's involvement in criminal activities in Indonesia indicates that the implementation of character education still faces numerous challenges. According to the KPAI infographic data as of August 31, 2020 (Maradewa, 2020), there were 42,565 reported cases of immoral behavior involving children, with 1,210 of them occurring in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. In response to this issue, the Indonesian government has integrated the Profil Pelajar Pancasila (Pancasila Student Profile) Program into the national education system. This program aims to instill 6 core dimensions of character: faith and devotion to God Almighty and noble character, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity.
However, studies have shown that the implementation of this program still encounters obstacles, one of which is the lack of engaging learning media for children. This design project aims to develop an educational medium that is both effective and appealing for children aged 8–9 years, enabling them to understand and apply the values of the Pancasila Student Profile in their daily lives while also expanding their knowledge of Indonesian culture. The design methodology includes literature review, analysis of existing products, comparative studies, in-depth interviews, experimental studies, and the design process.
The final outcome is a children's storybook illustrated in a 2D cartoon style, composed of six chapters, four of which were selected for prototype printing. Each chapter presents a different theme representing one of the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile.
Based on user testing conducted at SDN Tambakoso through three stages pre-test, prototype reading, and post-test which resulted in an N-Gain score of 0.77, the book demonstrated a high level of effectiveness. Furthermore, evaluation from a primary school educator affirmed that the book's innovative and age-appropriate presentation for children aged 8–9 supports its validity as a character education medium based on the Pancasila Student Profile.
