Abstract
Surabaya menjadi magnet bagi wisatawan domestik maupun mancanegara, khususnya para pelaku perjalanan dinas dan bisnis. Dengan posisinya yang berada di kawasan yang mudah diakses dari pusat perbelanjaan, area perkantoran, dan fasilitas umum, sebuah hotel memiliki potensi besar untuk menjadi pilihan utama bagi tamu yang mencari kenyamanan. Namun, Hotel Nite & Day menghadapi beberapa permasalahan, salah satunya adalah lokasi hotel yang tidak berada di pinggir jalan, sehingga membuatnya sulit dikenal oleh para tamu. Selain itu, desain interior yang kurang menarik juga menjadi faktor yang memengaruhi minat pengunjung. Keterbatasan ruang yang dimiliki hotel ini menjadi tantangan utama dalam menunjang kenyamanan dan daya tarik pengunjung. Oleh karena itu, fokus dari perancangan ini adalah melakukan re-desain interior hotel dengan pendekatan smart space optimization untuk mengatasi berbagai permasalahan tersebut.Rumusan masalah yang diangkat adalah bagaimana merancang interior hotel dengan keterbatasan ruang agar tetap fungsional, nyaman, dan menarik bagi tamu. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah menciptakan desain interior yang mampu mengoptimalkan ruang sempit melalui penerapan furnitur multifungsi, tata letak ruang yang efisien, serta suasana visual yang mendukung kenyamanan dan estetika. Metode yang digunakan dalam proses perancangan meliputi studi lapangan, observasi langsung, wawancara dengan pihak terkait, analisis kebutuhan pengguna, serta studi literatur sebagai dasar pendekatan desain. Prinsip-prinsip desain yang diterapkan mencakup ergonomi, pemilihan material yang fungsional, serta pengaturan pencahayaan dan skema warna untuk menciptakan kesan luas dan modern. Hasil yang diharapkan dari perancangan ini adalah terciptanya interior hotel yang mampu mengatasi keterbatasan ruang secara strategis, serta meningkatkan kenyamanan dan pengalaman tamu.

Surabaya has become a magnet for domestic and foreign tourists, especially business travelers. With its position in an area that is easily accessible from shopping centers, office areas, and public facilities, a hotel has great potential to become the first choice for guests seeking comfort. However, Hotel Nite & Day faces several problems, one of which is the location of the hotel which is not on the roadside, making it difficult to be recognized by guests. In addition, the unattractive interior design is also a factor that affects visitor interest. The limited space owned by this hotel is the main challenge in supporting the comfort and attractiveness of visitors. Therefore, the focus of this design is to re-design the hotel interior with a smart space optimization approach to overcome these problems. The formulation of the problem raised is how to design hotel interiors with limited space to remain functional, comfortable, and attractive to guests. The purpose of this design is to create an interior design that is able to optimize narrow spaces through the application of multifunctional furniture, efficient space layout, and a visual atmosphere that supports comfort and aesthetics. The methods used in the design process include field studies, direct observation, interviews with related parties, analysis of user needs, and literature studies as the basis for the design approach. The design principles applied include ergonomics, functional material selection, as well as lighting arrangements and color schemes to create a spacious and modern impression. The expected result of this design is the creation of a hotel interior that is able to strategically overcome space limitations, as well as improve guest comfort and experience.
