Abstract

This research aims to analyze the comparison of the oxidation stability of B100 biodiesel enhanced with natural antioxidant additives from moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) and commercial additives (Butylated Hidroxytoluene). The oxidation stability of biodiesel is crucial for maintaining fuel quality and diesel engine performance, as well as for reducing deposit formation and corrosion. In this experiment, 100% biodiesel (without diesel) was tested with the addition of two types of additives: one based on natural antioxidants from moringa leaves and the other using a commercial additive (Butylated Hidroxytoluene). The oxidation stability tests were conducted using a blending method. Furthermore, diesel engine performance tests showed that biodiesel with the natural additive produced lower exhaust emissions and better combustion efficiency compared to biodiesel using the commercial additive.
