Abstract

Mechanical Keyboard merupakan salah satu pendukung dari perangkat kerja manusia yang sifatnya personal dan akhirnya menjadi hobi kekinian yang tren. Tingginya minat pasar terhadap hobi Mechanical Keyboard membuat masyarakat mencari-cari tentang informasi mengenai bagaimana cara memulai masuk kedalam hobi Mechnaical Keyboard. Grup IMKG merupakan grup Facebook Indonesia yang berfokus dan berisikan komunitas yang paham mengenai produk dan perkemabgan Mechanical Keyboard secara global. Pandemi juga merupakan pemicu awal banyaknya masyarakat yang tertarik masuk ke hobi ini dan juga titik puncak IMGK memiliki banyak penambahan anggota. Tetapi minimnya Tingkat literasi dan minat baca masyarakat menjadi banyak sekali pertanyaan-pertanyaan didalam grup yang berulang-ulang tersebut hingga menutupi sumber informasi yang sudah ada didalam grup itu sendiri, selain itu juga belum ada bentuk informasi yang sifatnya diarsipkan didalam grup sehingga membuat member baru kesulitan untuk mencari informasi tersebut.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang sebuah video eksplainer yang akan memberikan penejlasang mengenai hobi Mechanical Keyboard untuk anggota baru pada grup IMKG (Indonesia Mechanical Keyboard) yang berokus kepada sumber informasi yang sifatnya ringan dan mudah untuk dijangkau. Metode yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam dengan narasumber yang sudah mendalami hobi, vendor, dan juga anggota group IMKG, selain itu juga dilakukan kuisioner untuk mengetahui pandangan dari member grup secara luas mengenai perkembangan dan tren hobi keyboard yang terkini.
Data dan informasi yang didapat kemudian diolah dalam bentuk rancangan video eksplainer series. Media ini terpilih karena mudahnya untuk dijangkau dan sifatnya yang cepat dam ringkas tanpa memerlukan user untuk membaca dan mencari ifnromasi yang berlebihan. Luaran dari perancangan ini adalah video eksplainer series tentang Mechanical Keyboard yang akan menjadi media pengenalan untuk member baru dan juga dapat menjadi media promosi grup IMKG.

Mechanical keyboards are one of the personal tools that support human work and have ultimately become a trendy hobby. The high market interest in mechanical keyboards has led people to seek information on how to get started with this hobby. The IMKG group is an Indonesian Facebook group that focuses on and consists of a community that understands mechanical keyboard products and developments globally. The pandemic also served as an initial catalyst for many people to become interested in this hobby, and it marked the peak of IMKG's membership growth. However, the low literacy levels and lack of reading interest among the public have led to a proliferation of repetitive questions within the group, overshadowing the existing information sources within the group itself. Additionally, there is no archived information format within the group, making it difficult for new members to find the information they need.
This study aims to design an explainer video that will provide an explanation about the hobby of mechanical keyboards for new members of the IMKG (Indonesia Mechanical Keyboard) group, which focuses on light and easily accessible sources of information. The methods used include in-depth interviews with experts who have extensive knowledge of the hobby, vendors, and IMKG group members. Additionally, a questionnaire was conducted to gather the broader perspectives of group members on the current developments and trends in the mechanical keyboard hobby.
The data and information obtained were then processed into a series of explanatory videos. This medium was chosen because it is easily accessible and quick and concise, without requiring users to read and search for excessive information. The output of this design is a series of explanatory videos about mechanical keyboards, which will serve as an introduction for new members and also as a promotional medium for the IMKG group.
