Abstract

Arsitektur sebagai sebuah profesi tidak hanya berperan dalam menciptakan ruang yang fungsional dan estetis, tetapi juga memiliki tanggung jawab untuk merespons tantangan zaman secara adaptif. Tantangan tersebut meliputi perubahan kebutuhan pengguna, kompleksitas konteks tapak, serta dinamika sosial dan lingkungan yang terus berkembang. Dalam konteks pendidikan profesi, arsitektur dituntut untuk mengintegrasikan pemahaman teoritis dengan keterampilan praktis guna menghasilkan solusi desain yang relevan, berkelanjutan, dan bertanggung jawab secara sosial.Laporan ini menyajikan dua proyek perancangan arsitektur yang dikembangkan sebagai bagian dari rangkaian proses pembelajaran dalam Program Pendidikan Profesi Arsitek (PPAr). Kedua proyek ini tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai media latihan profesional, tetapi juga menjadi sarana penerapan nyata dari 13 butir kompetensi arsitek sebagaimana dirumuskan oleh Ikatan Arsitek Indonesia (IAI). Proyek pertama merupakan perancangan hunian vertikal dua lantai yang difungsikan sebagai tempat tinggal . Rancangan ini menitikberatkan pada aspek kenyamanan termal dan visual, sistem sanitasi yang baik, serta perencanaan zonasi ruang yang jelas antara area publik dan area privat guna menjaga privasi dan mendukung aktivitas penghuni secara optimal. Dalam pengembangannya, desain ini juga mempertimbangkan efisiensi penggunaan lahan serta integrasi elemen-elemen pasif yang mendukung keberlanjutan, seperti pencahayaan alami, ventilasi silang, dan penggunaan material lokal yang ramah lingkungan. Sementara itu, proyek kedua merupakan hasil kolaborasi melalui studio off-campus bersama PT. KSaD Architects dalam bentuk perencanaan fasilitas asrama mahasiswa putra dan putri di bawah naungan Yayasan GIBS. Proyek ini menghadirkan pendekatan desain arsitektur yang memperhatikan kebutuhan kolektif penghuni, kenyamanan lingkungan belajar dan beraktivitas, serta pengelolaan massa bangunan yang adaptif terhadap kondisi iklim dan budaya lokal. Keterlibatan langsung dengan biro profesional dalam proyek ini memberikan kesempatan untuk memahami dinamika kerja nyata di lapangan, sekaligus mengasah kemampuan komunikasi lintas disiplin dan pengambilan keputusan secara profesional.

Architecture, as a profession, plays a role not only in creating functional and aesthetic spaces but also in responding to the challenges of the times through an adaptive approach. These challenges include shifting user needs, the complexity of site context, and the ever-evolving social and environmental dynamics. Within the context of professional education, architecture is required to integrate theoretical understanding with practical skills in order to generate design solutions that are relevant, sustainable, and socially responsible.This report presents two architectural design projects developed as part of the learning process within the Professional Program of Architecture (PPAr). These projects serve not only as exercises in professional practice but also as a means to implement the 13 architectural competencies established by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI).The first project involves the design of a two-story vertical housing unit intended as a residential facility. The design focuses on thermal and visual comfort, proper sanitation systems, and clear zoning between public and private areas to ensure privacy and support daily activities efficiently. The development also considers land use efficiency and incorporates passive design strategies that promote sustainability, such as natural lighting, cross ventilation, and the use of environmentally friendly local materials.The second project is a collaborative effort through an off-campus studio with PT. KSaD Architects, focusing on planning dormitory facilities for male and female students under the GIBS Foundation. This project adopts a design approach that considers the collective needs of its occupants, the comfort of learning and living environments, and a building massing strategy responsive to the local climate and cultural context. Direct involvement with a professional architectural firm provides valuable experience in real-world project dynamics while strengthening interdisciplinary communication and decision-making skills in a professional setting.
