Abstract

Dalam perjalanan menggunakan kapal sering ditemui penumpang yang mengalami gejala mabuk perjalanan. Gejala yang terjadi berupa kelelahan, kegelisahan, pusing bahkan bisa juga muntah-muntah. Kondisi ini disebabkan karena adanya gerakan selama perjalanan, sehingga menyebabkan trauma yang membuat rasa keinginan untuk menaiki transportasi laut berkurang. Sering kali permasalahan mabuk perjalanan disembuhkan menggunakan obat. Hal ini yang membuat adanya motivasi untuk menangani permasalahan tersebut dengan membuat alat terapi non-obat menggunakan Virtual Reality. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji seberapa besar pengaruh intervensi visual yang disajikan pada alat Virtual Reality berbasis Head Mounted Display dalam mencegah atau mengurangi terjadinya gejala mabuk perjalanan. Intervensi visual yang akan disajikan dalam Virtual Reality berupa video horizon laut dan pulau yang ada ditengahnya dengan jarak pandang jelas dan berkurang atau berkabut. Kemudian dua jenis video tersebut disertai dengan dua jenis warna video, Cold Tone dan Warm Tone. Saat melakukan eksperimen alat ini diuji pada dua tempat, yaitu di dalam ruangan dan di luar ruangan. Setelah melakukan eksperimen pada kapal, selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data. Metode yang akan digunakan untuk menghitung hasil penelitian menggunakan tiga metode statistika parametrik, yaitu Anova, Regresi Linear Berganda, dan Paired T-test. Namun apabila pada hasil penelitian nanti data tidak memenuhi syarat untuk diuji statistika parametrik, maka akan menggunakan metode statistika nonparametrik, Wilcoxon. Hasil dari analisis data pada penelitian ini terlihat bahwa semua intervensi yang diberikan memberikan dampak yang signifikan. Dimana setelah melakukan penelitian ini, diharapkan mampu memberikan solusi konkret apakah dengan bantuan alat sebagai terapi non-obat ini dapat membantu mengurangi gejala mabuk perjalanan. ===================================================================================================================================
When traveling by ship, passengers often encounter symptoms of motion sickness. Symptoms that occur include fatigue, anxiety, dizziness and even vomiting. This condition is caused by movement during the journey, causing trauma which reduces the desire to take sea transportation. Often the problem of motion sickness is cured using medication. This is what creates the motivation to deal with this problem by creating a non-drug therapy tool using Virtual Reality. This study aims to test how much influence visual interventions presented on Head Mounted Display-based Virtual Reality tools have in preventing or reducing the occurrence of symptoms of motion sickness. The visual intervention that will be presented in Virtual Reality is in the form of a video of the sea horizon and the island in the middle with clear and reduced or foggy visibility. Then the two types of videos are accompanied by two types of video colors, Cold Tone, and Warm Tone. When carrying out experiments, this tool was tested in two places, namely indoors and outdoors. After conducting experiments on the ship, data analysis was then carried out. The method that will be used to calculate the research results uses three parametric statistical methods, namely Anova, Multiple Linear Regression, and Paired T-test. However, if the research results show that the data does not meet the requirements for parametric statistical testing, the non-parametric statistical method, Wilcoxon, will be used. The results of data analysis in this study show that all interventions provided had a significant impact. After conducting this research, it is hoped that this will be able to provide a concrete solution as to whether using this tool as a non-medication therapy can help reduce the symptoms of motion sickness.
