Abstract

Excessive alcohol consumption among young Australians remains a significant public health concern, often driven by social pressure and stress. This project proposes the development of a mobile application designed to help individuals manage and reduce their drinking habits through proactive support and healthier social alternatives. The app features a user-friendly dashboard that tracks weekly alcohol consumption, sets personalized goals, and suggests engaging activities tailored to users' interests. By integrating real-time notifications and progress tracking, the app encourages users to make informed decisions about their drinking behaviors. What sets this application apart is its innovative approach to behavioral change. Rather than simply monitoring alcohol intake, the app actively promotes alternative social activities, reducing reliance on alcohol-centered gatherings. Personalized reminders alert users when they are approaching their self-imposed limits, reinforcing healthier habits over time. Through these features, the app aims to foster long-term, sustainable changes in drinking behavior, contributing to improved overall well-being. This project addresses the urgent need for modern, technology-driven solutions to combat alcohol overconsumption. By leveraging data-driven insights and personalized intervention strategies, the app has the potential to make a lasting impact on young Australians’ lifestyles. The ultimate goal is to provide a supportive digital tool that empowers individuals to take control of their habits, leading to healthier, more balanced lives.
