Abstract
Dewasa ini persoalan mengenai limbah plastik
merupakan masalah serius bagi pencemaran lingkungan karena
yang sebagaimana kita ketahui, plastik membutuhkan waktu yang
sangat lama hingga ratusan tahun untuk dapat terurai di dalam
tanah. Salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan dalam
penanganan limbah plastik ini adalah dengan mengolah limbah
plastik tersebut untuk dicetak menjadi biji plastik olahan.
Dalam perencanaan terlebih dahulu dipelajari
mekanisme mesin pencetak biji plastik. Dalam perencanaan
digunakan mesin screw press.Setelah pembuatan alat
perlu,dilakukan pengujian untuk mengetahui gaya total screw
memindahkan material ke dalam bentuk biji plastik. sehingga
gaya dan daya beserta komponen elemen mesin dapat
diperhitungkan,selanjutnya menghitung elemen-elemen lainnya
seperti dimensi screw, perencanaan putaran mesin, poros, pasak,
kopling, bantalan (bearing), kapasitas
Dari hasil percobaan tersebut, didapatkan diameter biji
plastik 4 mm dari lingkaran luar, dengan gaya torsi memutar
screw pres sebesar 57,5 kgf/mm dan kapasitas yang diuji sebesar
1,7 kg/jam.

Today the issue of plastic waste is a serious problem for
environmental pollution due to which, as we know, the plastic
takes a very long time until hundreds of years to decompose in the
soil. One of the solutions that can be applied in the handling of
plastic waste is to treat waste plastic to be molded into plastic
pellets processed.
In the first planning mechanisms studied plastic pellets
molding machine. In planning to use the machine screw press.
after making tools necessary, testing to determine the total force
screw to move the material into the form of plastic pellets. so that
the force and power of the engine and its components elements
calculated, then calculate the other elements such as the
dimensions of the screw, the planning engine rpm, shaft, pin,
clutch, bearing, capacity
From the experimental results, obtained 4 mm diameter
plastic pellets from the outer ring, with a torsion force rotating
screw press of 57.5 kgf / mm and capacity tested at 1.7 kg / h.
