Abstract

Place attachment yang ada dalam rumah kos terbentuk ketika penghuni merasa nyaman atau betah saat menghuni rumah kos. Terdapat fenomena ketika penghuni rumah kos sering berpindah dari rumah kos satu ke rumah kos lainnya, hal ini yang menyebabkan kerugian material bagi pemilik kos dan merugikan pula untuk penghuni kos karena mempersulit kegiatan, salah satu faktor penyebab sering berpindahnya penghuni kos adalah ketersediaan fasilitas yang ada. Maka dari itu untuk membentuk place attachment penghuni rumah kos diperlukan hubungan antara aspek fisik rumah kos, aktivitas dan makna yang ada. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk menganalisa place attachment pada rumah kos, dengan menggunakan aspekaspek place identity dan place dependence. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami pengaruh aspek fisik ruang bersama dalam pembentukan place attachment penghuni rumah kos, selain itu juga merumuskan kriteria desain ruang bersama untuk membentuk keterikatan penghuni dengan rumah kos. Paradigma dalam penelitian ini adalah post-positivisme dengan combined strategy: dominant–less dominant design. Tahap pertama yang dilakukan adalah analisa aspek fisik dari ruang bersama rumah kos serta pola aktivitas penghuni rumah kos dengan pengambilan data melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam yang dianalisa secara diskriptif kualitatif. Tahap selanjutnya adalah menganalisa aspek place identity (meliputi indikator the place-referent continuity, identity, attached, dan meaning) dan place dependence (meliputi indikator activities, preference, Satisfaction dan best) terhadap penghuni rumah kos. Hasil dari analisa aspek fisik, aspek place identity dan place dependence digunakan untuk menghasilkan kriteria desain, Hasil penelitian menemukan dua karakteristik pola tatanan ruang pada rumah kos 1 sampai 4, yaitu pola liner dan menyebar (cluster). Selain itu diperlukan perawatan pada elemen – elemen aspek fisik agar dapat meningkatkan place attachment penghuni rumah kos. Dari analisa place dependence tidak ada perbedaan place dependence antara penghuni rumah kos dengan karakteristik pola tatanan ruang menyebar dan linier dalam memandang karakteristik fisik ruang bersama rumah kos. Mereka beranggapan bahwa fungsi sebuah ruang bersama adalah sama dengan yang lainnya, yakni sebagai tempat untuk memfasilitasi penghuni dan wadah untuk beraktivitas saat berada di rumah kos. Namun disisi lain terdapat perbedaan place identity (indikator attached) antara penghuni rumah kos kelompok mahasiswa dan pekerja dalam memandang makna ruang.

Place attachments in the boarding house formed when residents feel comfortable at the boarding house. There is a phenomenon when residents of boarding houses often move from one boarding house to another, this causes material losses for the boarding house owner and is also detrimental to the boarding house occupants because it makes it difficult for one factor to make it challenging to move boarding house residents is the availability of existing facilities. Therefore, a relationship between the physical aspects of the boarding house, activities, and meanings is needed to form residence for the residents of a boarding house. This study attempts to analyze the attachment of a place to a boarding house, using aspects of place identity and place dependence. This study aims to understand the influence of the physical aspects of shared space in the formation of a residence for the residents of the boarding house. While also formulating the criteria for the design of the shared space for the attachment of the occupants to the boarding house. The paradigm in this research is post-positivism with a combination strategy: dominant-less dominant design. The first stage is to analyze the physical aspects of the shared space of the boarding house and the pattern of the occupants of the boarding house by collecting data through observation and in-depth interviews, which are analyzed qualitatively. The next stage is to analyze the identity aspect of the place (covering indicators of continuity of place-reference, identity, attachment, and meaning) and place dependence (including indicators of activity, preference, satisfaction, and best) on the occupants of the boarding house. The analysis results of physical aspects, aspects of place identity, and place dependence are used to develop design criteria. The study's results found two characteristics of the spatial pattern in boarding houses 1 to 4: the liner pattern and the spread (cluster) pattern. In addition, it is necessary to take care of the elements of the physical aspect to increase the place attachment of the residents of the boarding house. From the place dependence analysis, there is no place dependence difference between the occupants of the boarding house with the characteristics of the spatial pattern of spreading and linear in looking at the physical characteristics of the shared space of the boarding house. They assume that the function of shared space is the same as the others, namely as a place to facilitate residents and a place to do activities while in a boarding house. However, on the other hand, there is a difference in place identity (indicator attached) between the residents of the boarding house group of students and workers in viewing the meaning of space.
