Abstract
Plastik adalah salah satu benda yang sering kita gunakan dan temui dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Meningkatnya penggunaan plastik dari tahun ke tahun mengakibatkan adanya timbunan sampah plastik dalam jumlah besar dan berpotensi dalam mencemari lingkungan baik pada perairan maupun daratan. Masalah mengenai pembuangan dan pengelolaan sampah plastik pada beberapa perkotaan di Indonesia, khususnya di Kota Surabaya masih belum teratasi sepenuhnya. Banyak masyarakat yang belum memiliki kesadaran dan edukasi terhadap pemilahan dan pengelolaan sampah plastik. Padahal, jika sampah plastik dikelola dengan baik seperti daur ulang, maka sampah plastik tersebut bisa menjadi potensi besar dalam menghasilkan uang.
Oleh karena itu, peran arsitektur dalam merespon isu terhadap masalah pengelolaan sampah plastik dan kurangnya edukasi masyarakat umum adalah dengan menciptakan fasilitas ruang publik yang dapat mewadahi edukasi masyarakat umum Kota Surabaya mengenai pemilahan dan pengelolaan sampah plastik dengan menggunakan metode force-based framework serta melalui pendekatan arsitektur naratif yang juga melibatkan prinsip multi-sensory design di dalamnya untuk membangun konsep desain. Adanya fasilitas yang dapat mewadahi edukasi mengenai pengelolaan sampah plastik diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat umum dalam mengelola sampah plastik serta memberikan manfaat dalam lingkungan sosial dan perekonomian.

Plastic is one of the objects that we often use and encounter in everyday life. The increasing use of plastic from year to year results in the accumulation of plastic waste in large quantities and has the potential to pollute the environment, both in water and on land. Problems regarding the disposal and management of plastic waste in several cities in Indonesia, especially in the city of Surabaya, are still not completely resolved. Many people do not have awareness and education on the sorting and management of plastic waste. In fact, if plastic waste is managed properly such as recycling, the plastic waste can be a great potential in making money. Therefore, the role of architecture in responding to the issue of plastic waste management problems and the lack of education for the general public is to create public space facilities that can accommodate the education of the general public in the city of Surabaya regarding the sorting and management of plastic waste using the force-based framework method and through an architectural narrative approach that also involves the principle of multi-sensory design in it to build a design concept. The existence of facilities that can accommodate education regarding plastic waste management is expected to increase public awareness in managing plastic waste and provide benefits in the social and economic environment.
