Abstract

Manusia dan lingkungan memiliki hubungan yang sangat erat. Keduanya memberikan dampak satu sama lain. Lingkungan yang sehat akan memberikan pengaruh positif bagi pengguna yang ada di dalamnya dan sebaliknya. Lingkungan yang buruk dari aspek fisik dan non fisik akan memberikan dampak negatif kepada pengguna salah satunya adalah masalah terhadap kesehatan mental. Kesehatan mental dapat diartikan sebagai kondisi dimana seseorang berfungsi secara efektif di kehidupan sosial dan mampu menyesuaikan diri dengan tantangan yang dihadapi. Salah satu jenis dari masalah kesehatan mental yang sering ditemui di masyarakat adalah depresi atau Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Gangguan depresi mayor sering disebabkan oleh kondisi lingkungan yang tidak sehat baik secara fisik dan non fisik. Sehingga menyebabkan orang yang mengalami gangguan depresi mayor membutuhkan penanganan secara khusus melalui terapi dan perawatan klinis. Diperlukan adanya institusi kesehatan khusus (rumah sakit) yang mampu membantu masyarakat terkait pencegahan gangguan depresi mayor. Selain itu, rumah sakit juga diharapkan mampu membantu proses penyembuhan pasien yaitu orang dengan gangguan depresi mayor dengan menggunakan pendekatan healing environment yang di dalamnya melibatkan 3 unsur, alam, indera, dan psikologis dari pengguna.

Humans and the environment have a very close relationships. Both had an impact on each other. A healthy environment can have a positive effect on the user and vice versa. A unhealthy environment of both physical and non-physical aspects would have a negative impact on the user, one of which is a mental health problem. Mental health may be defined as a condition in which a person functions effectively in social living and able to adapt to the challenges he faces. One type of mental health problem that is often encountered in society is depression or major depressive disorder (MDD). Major depressive disorder is often caused by unhealthy physical and non-physical environmental conditions. So, people who experience with major depressive disorder require special treatment through therapy and clinical. Thus, it is necessary to have a special health institution (hospital) that is able to help the community regarding education to prevent major depressive disorder. In addition, the hospital are also expected to be able to help healing process of patients with major depression disorder by using a healing environment approach which involves 3 elements, nature, senses, and psychological from the user.
