Abstract

Antena merupakan suatu perangkat telekomunikasi yang mampu memancarkan dan/atau menerima gelombang elektromagnetik, sehingga penggunaan antena dapat mempermudah hubungan antara dua perangkat komunikasi. Antena yang telah banyak diciptakan dan diimplementasikan pada umumnya memiliki ukuran yang relatif besar, sehingga diperlukan teknik miniaturisasi untuk merancang antena yang lebih compact. Pada Tugas Akhir ini akan dibahas mengenai antena dual band berbasis metamaterial pada frekuensi 2.3/3.3 GHz. Metamaterial merupakan suatu material buatan yang memiliki permitivitas dan permeabilitas negatif. Metamaterial merupakan salah satu teknik miniaturisasi antena yang umum digunakan. Salah satu metode dalam perancangan antena berbasis metamaterial adalah dengan menggunakan teknik Composite Right Left Handed (CRLH) yang mendukung teknik miniaturisasi untuk antena metamaterial. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi diperoleh antena dual band dengan frekuensi bengah 2.395 GHz dan 3.315 GHz dengan nilai return loss masing-masing sebesar -18.999 dB dan -24.207 dB. Dari pengukuran hasil realisasi antena berbasis metamaterial diperoleh frekuensi tengah pada 1.95 GHz dan 2.94 GHz dengan nilai return loss masing-masing sebesar -13.0161 dB dan -16.3527 dB.

Antenna is one of telecommunication device that transmits and receives electromagnetic wave, so that antenna used could simplify communication between two devices. Antenna that have been created and implemented commonly have a relatively large dimension, so that miniaturization techniques to design more compact antenna are needed. This final project will explain about the dual band antenna based on metamaterial at 2.3/3.3 GHz frequencies. Metamaterial is an artificial material that has negative permittivity and permeability. Metamaterial is one of antenna miniaturization techniques that commonly used. One of the methods in metamaterial based antenna design by using Composite Right Left Handed (CRLH) which support miniaturization techniques for metamaterial antenna. Based on simulation result, dual band antenna works at centre frequencies 2.395 GHz dan 3.315 GHz with return loss 18.999 dB and -24.207 dB respectively. Based on measurement from realized antenna, the centre frequencies are 1.95 GHz and 2.94 GHz with return loss -13.0161 dB and -16.3527 dB respectively.%
