Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, humanity around the world was shaken by the virus pandemic (COVID-19) which not only had an impact on public health, but also affected the economic conditions, education and social life of the Indonesian people. The creative economy sub-sector has high foreign exchange for gross domestic product (GDP). Therefore, taking into account the pandemic conditions, the potential for economic recovery through the creative economy and a flexible lifestyle, a Makerspace facility called "Atelier". The purpose of Makerspace is a new workspace where users work with people who have jobs in other fields. The design of this facility is based on the author's desire to increase the creativity of the youth in Surabaya into a product. Atelier Makerspace is located at the Grand Sungkono Lagoon mall, to be precise on Jl. Maj. Gen. Sungkono, Surabaya, East Java. The reason the author chose this location is that this mall is a new mall with only a few tenants operating. The formulation of the Makerspace concept can be done using the observation method, distributing questionnaires to people who are doing freelancer business or who already have their own StartUp business. The conclusion from the results of this study is that in designing the interior concept "Atelier" is a survey of user needs first. Facilities in Atelier apart from the makerspace, there are Café Atelier facilities that can be used by the general public. The interior concept that is able to support comfortable and healthy studios and offices can be achieved by applying the IHC (Indoor air and health comfort) concept.
