Abstract

Autisme merupakan salah satu gangguan perkembangan yang merupakan bagian dari kelainan Spektrum Autsime atau Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Menurut pemaparan dr Kresno Mulyadi, Sp.KJ, psikiater dari RS Omni Hospital Alam Sutera Jakarta kepada detikHealth (19/12/2012), anak autis umumnya memiliki kecerdasan yang normal dan di atas rata-rata. Tetapi IQ pada anak autis tidak sebanding dengan EQ (Emotional Quotient) dan SQ (Spiritual Quotient) sehingga berakibat merugikan. Bagi penyandang autisme, diperlukan pembinaan dan terapi untuk menyeimbangkan antara IQ, EQ, dan SQ dengan memberikan pendidikan yang berorientasi pada pengembangan potensi kecerdasan yang dimiliki penyandang autisme. Sesuai dengan manat UUD 1945 Pasal 31, pendidikan adalah hak bagi semua warga negara tidak terkecuali bagi Anak-Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (ABK) seperti anak autism. Dengan adanya UPT Layanan Pendidikan ABK yang non-profit maka dapat menjangkau seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Berdasarkan pengamatan lapangan terdapat masalah terkait lingkungan UPT Layanan Pendidikan ABK yang kurang memperhatikan aspek optimalisasi pendidikan dan kehidupan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus. Dengan menerapkan konsep Healing Environtment diharapkan terciptanya lingkungan dengan beberapa aspek khusus guna optimalisasi pendidikan dan kehidupan Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus. Menurut Cooper Marcus dan Barnes 1999, “Healing” merupakan proses pemulihan fisik maupun mental dengan mencakup beberapa aspek antara lain fisik, mental, spiritual, emosional dan sosial. Konsep ini ditunjang dengan konsep sensori integrasi yang didasarkan pada pola pembelajaran anak autis. Menurut Bundy, Lane dan Muray (2003), Sensory Integration adalah teori hubungan antara otak dan perilaku. Konsep sensori integrasi diwujudkan dalam stimulus sensori berdasarkan kelima panca indera anak. Sedangkan healing environtment diwujudkan dalam penerapan beberapa aspek antara lain aspek alam, indera dan psikologi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menciptakan desain interior UPT Layanan Pendidikan ABK kota Malang yang memiliki fungsi sebagai layanan pendidikan yang tepat guna membantu optimlisasi kehidupan dan pembelajaran Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus.

Autism is a developmental disorder that is part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). But IQ in children with autism is not comparable to EQ (Emotional Quotient) and SQ (Spiritual Quotient) so that it is detrimental. For autistic people,
coaching and therapy are needed to balance IQ, EQ, and SQ by providing education that is developed to develop the intelligence potential of people with autism. In accordance with the mandate of the 1945 Constitution Article 31, education is a right for all citizens, not for Children with Special Needs (ABK) such as children with autism. With the non-profit ABK Education Service UPT, it can reach all levels of society. Based on field observations, there are problems related to the ABK Education Service UPT environment which does not pay attention to aspects of optimizing the education and lives of Children with Special Needs. By applying the concept of Healing Environment, it is hoped
that an environment with several special aspects will be created in order to optimize the education and lives of Children with Special Needs. According to Cooper Marcus and Barnes 1999, "Healing" is a process of physical and mental recovery by covering several physical, mental, spiritual, emotional and social aspects. This concept is supported by the concept of sensory integration which is based on the learning patterns of autistic children. According to Bundy, Lane and Muray (2003), Sensory Integration is a theory of the relationship between the brain and behavior. The concept of sensory integration is realized in sensory stimuli based on the five senses of children. Meanwhile, the healing environment is manifested in the application of several aspects, including aspects of nature, senses and psychology. The purpose of this research is to create an interior design for the Malang ABK Education Service UPT which has a function as an appropriate educational service to help optimize the lives and learning of Children with Special Needs.
