Abstract
=================================================================================================================================
Mammography imaging is used to detect abnormalities in breast tissue based on the gray level of an image. Therefore, mammography modalities require quality assurance to maintain the resulting image. To overcome the problems above, research on the development of phantom mammography was carried out based on actual mammography (MG) data. Research has been carried out to evaluate nozzle size on image quality at constant voltage and the effect of tube voltage variation and tube current modulation on image quality of in-house breast phantom. Furthermore, this study aims to evaluate the effect of variations in mammographic tube voltage on the dose received by glandular tissue using manual and Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) methods with variations in voltage of 23, 28, and 35 kV and a constant current of 100 mAs. Furthermore, the evaluation of image quality was analyzed with the parameters Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR), and Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), as well as dosimetry results in glandular tissue. The best image quality is obtained at a nozzle size of 0.2 mm with a voltage of 28 kV using manual mode. The SNR results show that the most significant is at 35 kV, and the largest SNR value is achieved at a nozzle size of 0.2 mm, while the largest SNR value is obtained for skin tissue. While the largest CNR value was obtained at 28 kV with a nozzle size of 0.2 mm using manual mode. In addition, the largest MTF value is found in Polylactic Acid (PLA) at a nozzle size of 0.4 mm with 35 kV using manual mode. Finally, dosimetry results on glandular tissue were obtained; the average dose at 23 kV, 28 kV, and 35 kV was 2.85 mGy, 28 kV was 0.97 mGy, and 35 kV was 9.75 mGy.
