Abstract
Baja AISI 4340 merupakan material Hummer Mill mesin penghancur batubara yang selama ini digunakan. Untuk mendapatkan permukaan yang keras agar tahan abrasif tetapi ulet pada bagian dalam, dilakukan proses Heat Treatment. Tetapi hasil yang diperoleh tidak pasti, kadang mengalami patah sebelum 80 jam pemakaian. Setelah itu ditemukan metode Hard Facing untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, dengan menggunakan elektrode tertentu. Baja AISI 4340 termasuk baja paduan yang harganya relatif tinggi, karena itu dicari baja pengganti untuk menekan harga produksi. Pada penelitian kali ini akan dilakukan proses Hard Facing baja AISI 1045 dengan empat macam variasi urutan elektrode (CitochromaxN, Citrodur V1000, dan Citromangan). Proses Hard Facing yang digunakan adalah memberikan lapis an filler pada Hummer Mill dengan pengelasan SMAW Selanjutnya ketahanan abrasi diuji dengan real load (tes road) pada mesin penghancur batubara selama 80 jam, dimana perubahan dimensi dan berat Hummer Mill di ukur setiap 6 jam (periode pengujian). Dari hasil penelitian, Hard Facing dengan menggunakan elekrode filler Citrodur VI000 menunjukkan hasil ketahanan abrasi yang paling baik. Kekerasan di weld metal baja AISI I045 lebih rendah dari baja AISI 4340, tetapi umur pakainya melebihi target 80 jam pemakaian. Sehingga baja AISI 1045 yang di Hard Facing dengan elektrode Citrodur VIOOO dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti baja AISI 4340 untuk Hummer Mill

AISI 4340 steel is the Hummer Mill material used for coal crushers. To obtain a hard surface that is abrasive resistant but ductile on the inside, a Heat Treatment process is carried out. However, the results obtained are uncertain, sometimes breaking before 80 hours of use. After that, the Hard Facing method was discovered to overcome this problem, by using certain electrodes. AISI 4340 steel is an alloy steel whose price is relatively high, therefore a substitute steel is sought to reduce production costs. In this study, the Hard Facing process of AISI 1045 steel will be carried out with four kinds of electrode sequence variations (CitochromaxN, Citrodur V1000, and Citromangan). The Hard Facing process used is to provide a filler layer on the Hummer Mill with SMAW welding. Furthermore, the abrasion resistance is tested with a real load (road test) on the coal crusher for 80 hours, where changes in dimensions and weight of the Hummer Mill are measured every 6 hours (test period). From the results of the study, Hard Facing using Citrodur VI000 filler electrodes showed the best abrasion resistance results. The weld metal hardness of AISI 1045 steel is lower than that of AISI 4340 steel, but its service life exceeds the target of 80 hours of use. Therefore, AISI 1045 steel hard-faced with Citrodur VIOOO electrodes can be used as a substitute for AISI 4340 steel for Hummer Mill
