Abstract
Paduan Alumunium A/-79/oSi (0.30% Mg) dengan heat treatment T 6 (solution treatment, quenching, artificial aging) yang mengalami pemanasan kembali pada proses painting . ditemukan kekerasannya cenderung meningkat melebihi standard yang ada. Metode yang dipilih untuk mengatasi kenaikan kekerasan ini adalah mengatur penambahan kadar unsur magnesium (Mg) yang diketahui mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan pada sifat mekanis paduan alumunium, penambahan Mg yang akan dilakukan ditetapkan pada (0.2, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35) % Mg. Pengujian yang dilakukan adalah uji tarik, uji kekerasan, dan pengamatan struktur mikro Penambahan magnesium(Mg) dan proses pemanasan ulang pada oven painting berpengaruh signifikan terhadap sifat mekanis. Kualitas basil painting ditentukan oleh temperatur dan waktu tahannya, oleh sebab itu temperatur dan waktu tahan pada oven painting ini tidak bisa dirubah. Maka kadar magnesium yang disetting ulang, dan dari basil penelitian ini didapat data sifat mekanis yang memenuhi standard American Racing Custom Wheels (preference ISO 9001/QS 9000) dan standard internal perusahaan adalah pada kadar magnesium 0.25%

Aluminum alloy A/-79/oSi (0.30% Mg) with heat treatment T 6 (solution treatment, quenching, artificial aging) which is reheated in the painting process. It was found that its hardness tends to increase beyond the existing standard. The method chosen to overcome this increase in hardness is to regulate the addition of magnesium (Mg) elements which are known to have a significant effect on the mechanical properties of aluminum alloys, the addition of Mg to be carried out is set at (0.2, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35) % Mg. The tests carried out are tensile tests, hardness tests, and microstructure observations. The addition of magnesium (Mg) and the reheating process in the painting oven have a significant effect on the mechanical properties. The quality of the painting results is determined by the temperature and holding time, therefore the temperature and holding time in this painting oven cannot be changed. Therefore, the magnesium content was reset, and the results of this study obtained mechanical property data that met the American Racing Custom Wheels standard (preference ISO 9001/QS 9000) and the company's internal standard at a magnesium content of 0.25%
