Abstract
Salah satu alternatif pengganti minyak bumi adalah menggunakan biodiesel. Kacang tanah sebagai salah satu produk pertanian dapat diolah menjadi biodiesel. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pencampuran biodiesel kacang tanah dengan solar pada unjuk kerja dan emisi gas buang. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran dan Bahan Bakar Teknik Mesin F11-ITS menggunakan mesin diesel Shogun L40AE-S 3. I kW/3600 rpm dengan metode SAE JI I 39 DEC 80. Sebagai bahan uji digunakan campuran biodisel kacang tanah dan solar dengan variasi campuran 60%; 70%; 80%; 90% dan IOO%. Unjuk kerja mesin diesel dengan bahan bakar campuran biodiesel kacang tanah dan solar tersebut akan dibandingkan dengan unjuk kerja mesin diesel dengan bahan bakar solar murni. Basil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan campuran biodisel kacang tanah dan solar dengan variasi campuran 60%; 70%; 80%; 90% dan IOO%, maka akan menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan daya, torsi dan bmep sebesar 3.23%, 3.98%, 4.80%, 5.3I% dan 6.38%. Untuk nilai sfc mengalami kenaikan sebesar 22.68%, 25.69%, 27.86%, 3I.4I% dan 33.I5%. Effisiensi thermis mengalami penurunan sebesar 10. 74%, 11.74%, 12.65%, 13.23% dan 14.32%. Sedangkan yang menguntungkan adalah soot yang terjadi mengalami penurunan sebesar 30.53%, 35.57%, 4I.68%, 47.45%, dan 5I.02%

One alternative to petroleum is using biodiesel. Peanuts as one of the agricultural products can be processed into biodiesel. This study was conducted to determine the effect of mixing peanut biodiesel with diesel on performance and exhaust emissions. The study was conducted at the Combustion and Fuel Engineering Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering F11-ITS using a Shogun L40AE-S 3.1 kW/3600 rpm diesel engine with the SAE JI I 39 DEC 80 method. As a test material used a mixture of peanut biodiesel and diesel with a mixture variation of 60%; 70%; 80%; 90% and 100%. The performance of the diesel engine with a mixture of peanut biodiesel and diesel fuel will be compared with the performance of the diesel engine with pure diesel fuel. The results of the study showed that by using a mixture of peanut biodiesel and diesel with a mixture variation of 60%; 70%; 80%; 90% and 100%, it will cause a decrease in power, torque and bmep by 3.23%, 3.98%, 4.80%, 5.31% and 6.38%. For the sfc value, it increased by 22.68%, 25.69%, 27.86%, 31.41% and 33.15%. Thermal efficiency decreased by 10.74%, 11.74%, 12.65%, 13.23% and 14.32%. Meanwhile, the beneficial effects are that the soot that occurred decreased by 30.53%, 35.57%, 41.68%, 47.45%, and 51.02%, respectively
