Abstract

Kayu sebagai bahan utama pembuatan kapal semakin langka, membuat harga perahu menjadi mahal dan tidak terjangkau oleh nelayan. Di sisi lain, diketahui bahwa pencemaran sampah plastik di lautan berdampak pada kualitas hasil tangkapan dan menjadi kendala saat penangkapan ikan. Salah satu terobosan yang ditawarkan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut dalam penelitian ini adalah material baru sebagai bahan baku utama konstruksi, yaitu sandwich panel plastik daur ulang dengan core wiremesh sebagai penguat, atau dapat disebut dengan Sandwich Panel Plastik Daur Ulang (SPPDU). Metode penelitian material meliputi pengujian eksperimental sifat mekanik, analisis sifat mekanik, perhitungan ukuran konstruksi, analisis metode pembangunan kulit lambung, dan analisis biaya pembuatan kapal dengan bahan sandwich panel plastik daur ulang. Sifat mekanik yang diuji dalam penelitian ini meliputi kuat tarik dan kuat lentur SPPDU dengan inti wiremesh. Variasi pada pengujian ini meliputi diameter 1 mm, 1,2 mm, dan 1,5 mm serta jarak antar kawat 10 mm, 12 mm, dan 20 mm. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian sifat mekanik, material SPPDU dengan wiremesh dengan diameter masing-masing 1 mm, 1,2 mm, dan 1,5 mm memiliki kuat tarik masing-masing sebesar 13,28 MPa, 13,81 MPa, 14,43 MPa, dan kuat lentur. 17,51 MPa, 17,84 MPa, 18,03 MPa. Sedangkan material wiremesh dengan spasi 10 mm, 12 mm, dan 20 mm memiliki kuat tarik masing-masing sebesar 14,33 MPa, 13,15 MPa, 12,01 MPa, dan kuat lentur 17,58 MPa, 17,52 MPa. 17,34 MPa. Kekuatan material SPPDU memenuhi kekuatan minimum yang dipersyaratkan untuk material pembuatan kapal menurut aturan klasifikasi DNVGL sebesar 6,7 MPa untuk kuat tarik dan 15 MPa untuk kuat tekuk. Durasi pengerjaan konstruksi kulit lambung dengan bahan SPPDU, fiberglass, dan jati masing-masing kurang lebih 15, 25, dan 30 hari. Biaya pembuatan kulit lambung dari SPPDU paling murah yaitu Rp. 30.391.000 menggunakan wiremesh dengan diameter kawat 1,2 mm dan jarak antar kawat 12 mm. Biaya tersebut mengurangi biaya pembuatan kulit lambung dari material plastik daur ulang sebesar Rp. 3.539.000 (10%), Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) sebesar Rp. 10.536.000 (26%), dan kayu jati sebesar Rp. 50.003.000 (62%).

Wood as the main material for boats is becoming increasingly scarce, making boat prices high and unaffordable for fishers. On the other hand, it is known that plastic waste pollution in the ocean impacts the quality of the catch and becomes an obstacle when fishing. One of the breakthroughs offered to overcomes these problems in this research is new material as the main construction raw material, which is a recycled plastic sandwich panel with a wire mesh core as reinforcement, or can be referred to as Recycled Plastic Panel Sandwich (RPPS). Methods to study the material include experimental testing of mechanical properties, analysis of mechanical properties, calculation of construction sizes, analysis of hull construction methods, and analysis of shipbuilding costs with recycled plastic sandwich panel materials. The mechanical properties tested in this study included tensile strength and bending strength of RPPS with wire mesh core. Variations in this test include a diameter of 1 mm, 1,2 mm, and 1,5 mm and wire spacing of 10 mm, 12 mm, and 20 mm. Based on the mechanical properties test results, the RPPS material with wire mesh with a diameter of 1 mm, 1,2 mm, and 1,5 mm, respectively, has a tensile strength of 13,28 MPa, respectively 13,81 MPa, 14,43 MPa, and bending strength. 17,51 MPa, 17,84 MPa, 18,03 MPa. While the material with wire mesh with a spacing of 10 mm, 12 mm, and 20 mm has a tensile strength of 14,33 MPa, 13,15 MPa, 12,01 MPa, and bending strength of 17,58 MPa, 17,52 MPa, respectively. 17,34 MPa. The strength of the RPPS material meets the minimum strength required for shipbuilding materials by the DNVGL classification rules of 6,7 MPa for tensile strength dan 15 MPa for bending strength. The duration of the construction of the hull shell with SPPDU, fiberglass, and teak materials is approximately 15, 25, and 30 days, respectively. The cost of building a boat hull made from RPPS is the lowest at Rp. 30.391.000 using wire mesh with a wire diameter of 1,2 mm and a wire spacing of 12 mm. These costs reduce the cost of building a hull shell made of recycled plastic by Rp. 3.539.000 (10%), Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) by Rp. 10.536.000 (26%), and teak wood by Rp. 50.003.000 (62%).
