Abstract

Since 1960, a large amount of modern military equipment from the Soviet Union has flowed to Indonesia, and one of them is the PT-76 light amphibious tank (Piavayushtshiy Tank-76). For certain reasons, Retrofit and repowering of the PT-76 amphibious tank has been carried out since 1962 until now. With the change in the system used, it tends to cause the performance of the tank system when in water to also change. The right system analysis is expected to maintain the performance of the tank itself. In this final project, the determination and placement of loads as a safe response to the PT-76 amphibious tank is discussed. The analysis method with Maxsurf is used to find the optimal condition of the tank when in water. The analysis begins with the determination and placement of the load, followed by how high the waves are that still meet the applied rules but are still safe. Proper load distribution can be considered as a fixed ballast of the PT-76 amphibious tank to obtain safe tank stability
