Abstract

Seakeeping merupakan perilaku olah gerak kapal di laut, seakeeping dipengaruhi oleh bentuk lambung kapal, kecepatan kapal, arah datang kapal terhadap datangnya gelombang. Kapal cepat katamaran saat ini banyak digunakan sebagai kapal militer maupun kapal penumpang karena memiliki stabilitas yang baik dan hambatan yang lebih kecil. Namun demikian, kapal cepat katamaran memiliki kekurangan terkait kualitas seakeeping saat kapal beroperasi pada perairan bergelombang. Oleh karena itu penambahan hydrofoil pada kapal katamaran dapat memperbaiki kualitas seakeeping kapal. Pada penelitian kali ini akan dilakukan analisis mengenai pengaruh penggunaan hydrofoil pada kapal katamaran terhadap seakeeping kapal. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah uji eksperimental untuk mendapatkan repons gerakan kapal pada gelombang reguler, lalu dibandingan dengan hasil metode numerik pada penelitian sebelumnya. Ada beberapa kondisi yang ditentukan pada penilitian ini, seperti sudut datangnya gelombang (μ) terhadap kapal yakni pada sudut 180°, tipe NACA yang digunakan adalah NACA 641-212, analisa dilakukan pada kondisi kecepatan 0 dan 15 knot, dan kapal tanpa penambahan hydrofoil dan dengan penambahan dua hydrofoil dimana satu hydrofoil pada haluan dan hydrofoil lainnya pada buritan. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, gerakan heave dan pitch kapal katamaran dengan penambahan hydrofoil lebih baik dibanding tanpa menggunakan hydrofoil.

Seakeeping is the behavior of the ship's motion at sea, seakeeping is influenced by the shape of the hull, the speed of the ship, the direction of the ship's arrival to the arrival of waves. Catamaran fast boats are currently widely used as military ships and passenger ships because they have good stability and lower drag. However, fast catamarans have shortcomings related to the quality of seakeeping when the ship is operating in rough waters. Therefore, the addition of hydrofoil on a catamaran can improve the seakeeping quality of the ship. In this study, an analysis will be carried out on the effect of using hydrofoil on a catamaran on the seakeeping of the ship. The analytical method used is an experimental test to get the response of the ship's movement at regular waves, then compared with the results of the numerical method in previous studies. There are several conditions determined in this research, such as the angle of arrival of the waves (μ) to the ship, which is at an angle of 180°, the type of NACA used is NACA 641-212, the analysis is carried out at speed conditions of 0 and 15 knots, and ships without the addition of hydrofoil and with the addition of two hydrofoils where one hydrofoil at the bow and the other hydrofoil at the stern. Based on the results obtained, the heave and pitch motion of the catamaran with the addition of hydrofoil is better than without using
hydrofoil.
