Abstract

Radiotherapy planning for oropharyngeal cancer has been carried out using the 6MV Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) technique. This study aims to evaluate the target absorption dose and organ at risk, evaluate the Homogeneity Index (HI) and Conformity Index (CI) values, evaluate the dose difference from the Treatment planning System (TPS) and the measurement results using EBT3 film. IMRT planning was carried out using Eclipse software on a 3D Printed Head−Neck Phantom with a dose of 200 cGy 30 fractions and the number of fields were 5,7, and 9. The target absorption dose of 9 fields had a dose that covered the PTV area more than 7 fields and 5 fields. The absorbed dose in organs at risk using 5 fields received a higher dose than other fields. The accepted HI value in variations 5, 7 and 9 courts are 0.0697; 0.0753; and 0.0705 respectively. The HI value is close to the ideal value, which is 0 which means that the dose received by the target has uniformity. The CI values obtained at variations of 5.7 and 9 are 0.9955; 0.9965; and 0.9968, respectively. The CI values of the three fields are close to ideal, namely 1. This indicates that the dose distribution is in accordance with the target shape. The dose discrepancy at PTV is in accordance with the tolerance limit set in TRS 398. The dose discrepancy in some organs at risk has a value of more than 5%, this is not in accordance with the tolerance limit set by TRS 398. Based on statistical analysis, there is no significant difference between the measurement and planning results, which means that the dose discrepancy value is still acceptable.
