Abstract

Tanaman porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) sebagai salah satu tanaman umbi-umbian sedang gencar dibudidayakan karena berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber bahan pangan alternatif. Selain menggunakan umbi katak (bulbil), perkembangbiakan tanaman porang dapat dilakukan menggunakan umbi batangnya. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi dalam budidaya tanaman porang adalah periode dormansinya yang berlangsung selama 7-8 bulan sehingga periode aktif tumbuhnya hanya berlangsung selama 4-5 bulan tiap tahun. Hal ini menyebabkan produktivitas tanaman porang menjadi sulit untuk ditingkatkan. Tanaman porang tumbuh dengan baik pada kondisi media tanam bertekstur ringan, gembur, dan subur. Media tanam yang terdiri dari campuran tanah top soil, kompos, dan arang sekam memiliki karakteristik yang sesuai dengan media tanam porang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pertumbuhan umbi batang porang yang diberi pengaruh CPPU konsentrasi 20 ppm dan 40 ppm serta rekayasa media tanam. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan dua faktorial. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi CPPU dan faktor kedua adalaha rekayasa media tanam. Berdasarkan hasil uji ANOVA didapatkan bahwa interaksi CPPU dan rekayasa media tanam berpengaruh terhadap waktu muncul tunas pertama dan jumlah tunas yang dihasilkan, CPPU berpengaruh terhadap tinggi tunas, dan seluruh faktor tidak berpengaruh terhadap berat umbi. Waktu muncul tunas pertama tercepat terdapat pada perlakuan C1P1 dengan rata-rata waktu muncul tunas 7 hari setelah masa tanam. Jumlah tunas terbanyak terdapat pada perlakuan C0P4 dengan rata-rata jumlah tuna 13 buah untuk tiap umbi. Tinggi tunas terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan C0P2 dengan rata-rata tinggi tunas 1,8 cm. Berat basah umbi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan C1P4 dengan rata-rata peningkatan berat umbi sebanyak 4,6 gram.

Porang (Amorphophallus muelleri Blume) as one of the root crops is being intensively cultivated because it has the potential to be developed as an alternative food source. In addition to using frog tubers (bulbil), porang plant propagation can be done using stem tubers. One of the obstacles faced in the cultivation of porang plants is the dormancy period which lasts for 7-8 months so that the active period of growth only lasts for 4-5 months each year. This causes the productivity of porang plants to be difficult to increase. Porang plants grow well in conditions of light textured, loose, and fertile planting media. The planting medium consisting of a mixture of top soil, compost, and husk charcoal has characteristics that are in accordance with the porang planting media. The purpose of this study was to describe the growth of porang tubers under the influence of CPPU concentrations of 20 ppm and 40 ppm as well as planting media engineering. The research design used in this study was a completely randomized design (CRD) with two factorials. The first factor is the concentration of CPPU and the second factor is the engineering of the planting media. Based on the results of the ANOVA test, it was found that the interaction of CPPU and planting media engineering had an effect on the time of emergence of the first shoots and the number of shoots produced, CPPU had an effect on shoot height, and all factors had no effect on tuber weight. The fastest time to appear for the first shoots was found in the C1P1 treatment with an average shoot emergence time of 7 days after planting. The highest number of shoots was found in the C0P4 treatment with an average number of 13 tunas for each tuber. The best shoot height was found in the C0P2 treatment with an average shoot height of 1.8 cm. The best wet weight of tubers was found in the C1P4 treatment with an average increase in tuber weight of 4.6 grams.
