Abstract

Pohon pada taman kota berkontribusi dalam memberikan manfaat untuk masyarakat, diantaranya adalah pengontrol udara disekitarnya, pencegah erosi tanah, mengurangi polusi udara dan suara, serta sebagai habitat burung dan satwa liar lainnya. Namun diketahui terdapat berbagai faktor resiko yang dapat menyebabkan tumbangnya pohon, beberapa faktor resiko diantaranya adalah keterbatasan cahaya dan kehilangan mahkota dan/atau batang serta ukuran yang kecil. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat mortalitas pohon di 4 taman besar kota Surabaya berdasarkan studi faktor resiko mortalitas dan kerusakan pohon di 4 taman kota Surabaya. Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan metode sensus untuk mengidentifikasi pohon yang terdapat 4 taman tersebut kemudian digunakan protokol Tree Mortality and Damage yang dikeluarkan oleh ForestGEO untuk mencari tahu faktor resiko pada pohon yang kemudian faktor-faktor resiko tersebut akan dikuartilkan dan mengetahui nilai mortalitas pohon pada 4 taman besar Kota Surabaya. Setelah penelitian dilaksanakan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa nilai faktor mortalitas pada Taman Flora terdapat 6.7% tegakan bernilai rendah, 92.4% tegakan bernilai cukup rendah, dan 0.9% tegakan bernilai cukup tinggi. Kemudian pada Taman Bungkul ditemui 9.3% tegakan bernilai rendah dan 90.7% tegakan bernilai cukup rendah. Lalu pada Taman Pelangi dijumpai 1.4% tegakan bernilai rendah dan 98.6% tegakan bernilai cukup rendah, serta pada Taman Ekspresi ditemukan 2.3% tegakan bernilai rendah, 94.2% tegakan bernilai cukup rendah dan 3.5% tegakan bernilai cukup tinggi.

Trees in city parks contribute to providing benefits to the community, including controlling the surrounding air, preventing soil erosion, reducing air and noise pollution, as well as being a habitat for birds and other wildlife. However, it is known that there are various risk factors that can cause a tree to fall, some of which are limited light and loss of crown and/or trunk as well as small size. The purpose of this study was to determine the mortality rate of trees in 4 major parks in Surabaya based on a study of risk factors for mortality and tree damage in 4 parks in Surabaya. In this study, a census method will be carried out to identify trees in the 4 parks, then the Tree Mortality and Damage protocol issued by ForestGEO will be used to find out the risk factors for trees, then these risk factors will be divides into quartile and determine the mortality value of trees in 4 parks. big city of Surabaya. After the research was conducted, it can be concluded that the value of the mortality factor in Flora Parks was 6.7% of stands of low value, 92.4% of stands of moderately low value, and 0.9% of stands of moderately high value. Then in Bungkul Park, 9.3% of the stands were of low value and 90.7% of the stands were of moderately low value. Then in Pelangi Park, there were 1.4% of stands with low value and 98.6% of stands with moderately low value, and in Ekspresi Park, there were 2.3% of stands with low value, 94.2% of stands with moderately low value and 3.5% of stands with moderately high value.
