Abstract

The main challenges in utilizing natural gas are transportation and storage. Natural gas pipelines are very economical, but impractical when crossing oceans. Similarly, the onshore gas pipeline between Pagardewa and Labuhan Maringgai faces varying environmental conditions, resulting in varying pipe strengths and loads. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the reliability of the gas pipeline to determine its safe operating lifetime. The reliability calculation uses the Mean Value First Order Second Moment (MVFOSM) approach. This method was chosen because it is based on the level of analysis performed and the available data. From this calculation, it is expected that the safety index (fJ) and probability of failure (Pf) values will be known in the gas pipeline design
