Abstract
Culinary culture in each region has its own characteristics and uniqueness, for example, culinary in Blitar City. Of the many typical foods and drinks in Blitar City, only a few foods are still known as food characteristics in the city. Documentary film is one of the comprehensive audio-visual media that can record the journey, space and time of origin and the story of typical food and drink in the City of Blitar with cinematic visual language spoken. The hope is that this documentary can introduce the remaining culinary artifacts of the city of Blitar to the public and future generations. Based on this, the author plans to design a documentary film as a medium of information that can help introduce and preserve traditional cuisine. In this design, wajik kletik, es drop, es pleret, ampok rice, uceng rice and seasoned tofu are chosen as traditional culinary delights. The method used in the design of the documentary film is qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative methods used in the form of literature studies, existing studies and depth interviews. While the quantitative method used is a questionnaire. The two approaches will be used to analyze information and data in the early stages of design. This design uses a cinematic approach with the big idea of telling a film entitled "The Legend of Patria Culinary". The 27-minute film is about 6 culinary foods and beverages in the City of Blitar by raising the concept of Blitar as the city of Patria, a city known for its heroism. In the production of the film Legend of Culinary Patria, he uses the Pop Punk genre as his musical score, while the camera angle uses eye view, low angle, high angle, close up and extreme close up so that the audience gives an impression and emphasizes the message and memorable impression. In the film coloring process, medium saturation colors are used in order to maintain the original color of the culinary presented in the film.
