Abstract
Penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisis terhadap inovasi Fiber Reinforced Elastomeric Isolators (FREI) yang merupakan salah satu inovasi base isolation untuk perkuatan rumah ramah gempa. Metode penelitian yang akan digunakan merupakan metode numerik dengan program bantu ABAQUS tentang pengaruh variasi pada modifikasi geometri terhadap bentuk dan dimensinya serta material serat pengaku yang akan digunakan pada FREI. Tahapan penelitian akan dimulai dengan pemodelan CFREI dan GFREI pada benda uji eksperimental sebagai uji validasi untuk memastikan kesesuaian spesifikasi material FREI, kemudian akan dilanjutkan dengan pemodelan variasi benda uji yang telah dimodifikasi. Kontrol pemodelan validasi serta analisis pemodelan modifikasi akan dievaluasi berdasarkan perilaku mekaniknya, seperti nilai kekakuan dan nilai redamannya. Pada pemodelan validasi, selisih nilai redaman terhadap perpindahan maksimum pada CFREI dan GFREI secara berurutan hanya terpaut sebesar 0,81% dan 8,68%. Karena selisih nilai pada pemodelan validasi hanya terpaut angka yang kecil, sehingga akan dilanjutkan pada tahapan berikutnya yaitu pemodelan modifikasi. Pemodelan modifikasi akan ditinjau terhadap pengaruh enam variasi pada modifikasi FREI, antara lain pengaruh material serat pengaku, jumlah lapisan isolator, bentuk, luas penampang, ketebalan karet, dan ketebalan serat pengaku. Hasil evaluasi perilaku mekanik membuktikan bahwa dengan meningkatkan luas permukaan isolator dan ketebalan serat pengaku serta menggunakan material carbon-fiber pada FREI cukup efektif untuk meningkatkan kinerja FREI dalam meredam gempa.

This study will analyze an innovation of Fiber Reinforced Elastomeric Isolators (FREI) which is one of base isolation innovations for earthquake-friendly house reinforcement. The research method conducted is a numeric method using ABAQUS program on the effect of variations in geometry modification on its shape, dimension as well as fiber material that will be used in FREI. The stage of this study will be ensuring the suitability of the FREI material specification with CFREI and GFREI on experimental specimens as a validation test which is going to be continued with the modified specimen model variety. Besides, the validation model control and modification model analysis will be evaluated based on their mechanical characterization, such as the stiffness and damping ratio. In the validation model, a deviation of damping ratio to the maximum displacement of CFREI and GFREI is respectively 0,81% and 8,68%. Due to the deviation of validation model being relatively small, the modification model will be carried out in the next stage. The modification model will review the effect of six variations on the FREI modification including the effect of fiber material, a number of isolator layers, shape, cross-sectional area, rubber thickness, and fiber thickness. The evaluation results of mechanical characterization prove that increasing the surface area of the isolators as well as the thickness of the fiber and using carbon-fiber material on FREI are quite effective to improve the FREI’s performance in damping earthquakes.
