Abstract
Manufacturing excellence (ME) adalah ukuran dari kemampuan perusahaan manufaktur untuk bereaksi cepat terhadap setiap perubahan kondisi pasar yang berubah secara dinamis yaitu dengan mengkondisikan perusahaan mencapai target efisiensi tinggi dan andal. Banyak teknik yang telah dilakukan oleh perusahaan manufaktur dalam menjalankan manufacturing excellence, salah satunya dengan lean six sigma untuk mengurangi production wastes dan variabilitas proses. Lean six sigma menjadi sangat penting dalam pencapaian manufacturing excellence sebagai kontrol kendali mulai dari raw material hingga produk jadi dengan menghilangkan waste dan mencapai zero waste dalam setiap proses manufaktur. Sebagai orientasi utama perusahaan yang fokus untuk menurunkan angka defect produk dan berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada Perusahaan Bata Ringan berada pada level 3 sigma dengan nilai DPMO adalah 62975,9 masih jauh dalam pencapaian menuju manufacturing excellence yang diharapkan dengan target lebih kecil 1% angka defect yang dihasilkan dengan 6 level sigma. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan langkah strategis untuk mencapai manufacturing excellence dan diperoleh 16% pengurangan aktivitas tidak diperlukan (Non Value Added) yaitu 1,2 jam dari total cycle time 16 jam per mould yang secara otomatis menghemat waktu untuk dialokasikan pada aktivitas cek kualitas dimasing-masing stasiun kerja. Sedangkan untuk memperbaiki sistem proses produksi melalui evaluasi standard kerja, menggunakan sistem baru dengan kanban dan andon system untuk menjalankan prinsip lean pada semua aktivitas kerja yaitu mengeliminasi, merampingkan, mengurangi waste yang mempengaruhi pencapaian manufacturing excellence melalui continuous improvement dimasa yang akan datang.

Manufacturing excellence (ME) is a measure of the ability of manufacturing companies to react quickly to any changes in dynamically changing market conditions, namely by conditioning the company to achieve high and reliable efficiency targets. Many techniques have been used by manufacturing companies in implementing manufacturing excellence, one of which is lean six sigma to reduce production wastes and process variability. Lean six sigma becomes very important in achieving manufacturing excellence as a control starting from raw materials to finished products by eliminating waste and achieving zero waste in every manufacturing process. As the main orientation of the company that focuses on reducing product defect rates and based on the results of research on light brick companies is level 3 sigma with a DPMO value of 62975.9 is still far from achieving the expected manufacturing excellence with a smaller target of 1% defect rate produced with 6 sigma levels. Therefore, strategic steps are needed to achieve manufacturing excellence and obtained a 16% reduction in unnecessary activities (Non Value Added) is around 1,2 hours from a total cycle time of 16 hours per mould which automatically saves time to be allocated to quality check activities at each work station. Therefore, strategic steps are need to achieve manufacturing excellence, namely by improving the production process system through evaluation of work standards, using a new system with kanban and andon systems to implement lean principles in all work activities to eliminating, streamlining, waste reducing that affects the achievement of manufacturing excellence through continuous improvement in the future.
