Abstract
Pekerjaan konstruksi jalan tol, khususnya pada Proyek Jalan Tol Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Seksi 1 Paket 1.2: Klaten-Purwomartani (STA 39+300 s.d. STA 41+600), mencakup salah satu tahap penting yaitu pekerjaan tanah.

Toll road construction projects, particularly the Solo–Yogyakarta–NYIA Kulon Progo Toll Road Project Section 1 Package 1.2: Klaten–Purwomartani (STA 39+300 to STA 41+600), involve one of the most critical stages, namely earthwork operations. These activities include excavation and embankment using Common Borrow Material (CBM), which heavily rely on heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, vibro rollers, and sheep foot rollers. A common problem encountered in the field is the improper selection of the type and number of heavy equipment in relation to existing site conditions, leading to project delays, increased operational costs, and inefficient scheduling. This study aims to determine the optimal combination of heavy equipment to achieve minimum cost and time for earthwork operations. Primary data were collected through field observations and analyzed by developing a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Furthermore, calculations were conducted for earthwork volumes, equipment productivity, operational costs, and project scheduling using scheduling software. The results show that the total excavation volume is 46,470.10 m³, while the embankment volume reaches 544,865.00 m³. Based on a comparative analysis of three equipment combinations, Combination B utilizing an excavator, dump truck, motor grader, vibro roller, and sheep foot roller was selected as the most optimal alternative. Combination B resulted in a total cost of IDR 90,190,707,628.53 with a project duration of 209 days. The cost analysis indicates a budget efficiency of IDR 7,801,466,378.01, reducing the total project cost from IDR 97,992,174,006.54 to IDR 90,190,707,628.53, along with a time acceleration of 104 days from 313 days to 209 days. This efficiency was achieved due to the use of a motor grader, which provides more precise and faster land leveling, thereby reducing the workload of compaction equipment.
