Abstract

Saat ini aplikasi penyunting foto telah berkembang hingga dapat dioperasikan di dalam telepon genggam. Aplikasi penyunting foto seluler yang memiliki banyak penggunanya adalah VSCO. Salah satu kelebihan aplikasi VSCO adalah terdapat fitur yang tidak dimiliki aplikasi penyunting foto lain, seperti fitur copy paste. Namun, menurut ulasan pengguna pada App Store, ditemukan ulasan bahwa user interface dari aplikasi ini kurang baik. Maka dari itu, dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan analisa lebih lanjut terkait usability dengan menggunakan metode Concurrent Think Aloud (CTA), System Usability Scale (SUS), dan Heuristic Evaluation. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan melibatkan responden berjumlah 44 orang yang terdiri dari; 4 orang Experts, 20 orang Non-user, dan 20 orang Experienced User. Variabel yang digunakan terdiri dari variabel dependent yang berisikan task completion time dan error rate, lalu variabel independent berisikan pengalaman responden dan task yang diberikan. Dari metode CTA menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa beberapa responden mengeluhkan permasalahan seperti kesalahan / error pada saat sign up with email, fitur edit yang ikonnya sulit dibedakan dengan ikon fitur montage, kesalahan membedakan fitur tab recents dan drafts, fitur copy / paste yang rumit untuk digunakan karena tersembunyi, dan keterbatasan dalam mengunggah foto pada aplikasi VSCO. Sedangkan untuk hasil dari penggunaan metode SUS, menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa aplikasi VSCO memiliki rata-rata nilai skor SUS 56,87 untuk kategori experienced user, dan 37,75 untuk kategori non-user. Hal tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa aplikasi VSCO memiliki nilai dibawah batas minimum yaitu bernilai 60. Sehingga acceptability ranges dari kedua kategori tersebut adalah “Not Acceptable”. Kemudian untuk hasil dari metode Heuristic Evaluation menghasilkan bahwa aplikasi VSCO memiliki total rata-rata nilai severity rating sebesar 2 poin dengan keterangan bahwa perbaikan perlu diberikan, namun dengan prioritas rendah.

In this era, photo editor application is growing rapidly so we can operate it in our handphone. One of the most used photo editor applications is VSCO. VSCO has several functions that other photo editor application does not have and one of them is copy-paste features. However, according to the user reviews at App Store, it found that several users complaining about the bad user interface (UI). Therefore, in this research will discuss about further analysis related to usability of the application using Concurrent Think Aloud (CTA) method, Sytem Usability Scale (SUS), and Heuristic Evaluation. This research is conducted by involving 44 respondents consisting of; 4 experts, 20 non-users, and 20 experienced users. The variable used consist of the dependent variable which contains; task completion time and error rate, and then the independent variable contains; the experience's level of the respondent and the task given. The results of using CTA method is that some respondents complained about problems such as; errors when signing up with email, the edit feature whose icon is difficult to distinguish from the montage feature icon, errors in distinguishing the recents and drafts tab features, the copy / paste feature which is complicated to use because it is hidden and limitations in uploading photos on the VSCO application. As for the results of using the SUS method, it can be concluded that the VSCO application has an average SUS score of 56.87 for the experienced user category, and 37.75 for the non-user category. This indicates that the VSCO application has a value below the minimum limit of 60. So the acceptability ranges of the two categories are "Not Acceptable". Then for the results of the Heuristic Evaluation method, the VSCO application has a total average severity rating of 2 points with a statement that improvements need to be given, but with low priority.
