Abstract

Womenpreneur in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector play a strategic role in Indonesia’s economic development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). However, many Womenpreneurs continue to face difficulties in translating entrepreneurial intentions into concrete and sustainable business actions. These challenges are not only structural but also psychological, especially related to low entrepreneurial self-efficacy and less adaptive mindsets toward business uncertainty. This study aims to examine the effect of growth mindset–based training on entrepreneurial action among Womenpreneurs and to test the mediating role of changes in growth mindset on entrepreneurial self-efficacy. The study employs a longitudinal quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-measurements involving a training group and a control group, conducted during a Womenpreneur empowerment workshop at the Department of Business Management, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, mean difference tests, linear and logistic regression, and mediation analysis with PROCESS Macro Hayes Model 4. The results indicate that growth mindset training significantly enhances entrepreneurial self-efficacy through changes in growth mindset, while its effect on entrepreneurial action is not statistically significant in the short term. These findings highlight the importance of growth mindset as a psychological foundation for women entrepreneurship empowerment.
