Abstract

Pengelolaan limbah cair industri penting untuk memastikan kepatuhan baku mutu dan menurunkan risiko pencemaran. PT XYZ, salah satu perusahaan pengolahan kakao terbesar di Indonesia, menghadapi fluktuasi kualitas limbah cair WWTP 1 yang berpotensi melampaui baku mutu sehingga memerlukan evaluasi proses secara menyeluruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kestabilan dan kapabilitas proses pengolahan limbah cair WWTP 1 menggunakan data hasil uji laboratorium dari dua vendor eksternal pada periode Januari 2023 hingga Desember 2024. Analisis dilakukan dengan diagram Pareto untuk menentukan parameter kritis; peta kendali M dan T² Hotelling untuk mengevaluasi kestabilan; analisis kapabilitas proses untuk menilai kemampuan memenuhi spesifikasi; diagram Ishikawa untuk mengidentifikasi akar masalah; serta MANOVA dan ANOVA untuk menguji perbedaan hasil antar vendor. Hasil Pareto menunjukkan Nitrat (NO3–N) dan Nitrit (NO2–N) paling sering melampaui ambang batas. Peta kendali mengindikasikan proses belum stabil karena terdapat titik di luar batas kendali, sedangkan analisis kapabilitas menunjukkan proses belum kapabel untuk memenuhi batas baku mutu pada parameter Nitrat dan Nitrit. Analisis Ishikawa mengarah pada faktor manusia, material, metode, dan peralatan sebagai penyebab dominan ketidaksesuaian mutu. MANOVA dan ANOVA menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara hasil uji vendor A dan vendor B, dengan Nitrat sebagai kontributor utama perbedaan. Implikasinya, PT XYZ perlu memprioritaskan pengendalian Nitrat–Nitrit melalui pemantauan berbasis SPC, optimasi dosis bahan kimia dan parameter operasi, peningkatan kompetensi operator dan kepatuhan SOP, serta kalibrasi dan pemeliharaan peralatan; disertai standardisasi dan validasi metode uji untuk menyelaraskan hasil antar vendor.

Industrial wastewater management is essential to ensure compliance with environmental quality standards and to reduce pollution risks. PT XYZ, one of the largest cocoa-processing companies in Indonesia, faces fluctuations in the limbah cair quality of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) 1 that may exceed regulatory limits, necessitating a comprehensive process evaluation. This study aims to assess the stability and capability of the wastewater treatment process at WWTP 1 using laboratory test data from two external vendors collected between January 2023 and December 2024. Pareto analysis was applied to identify critical parameters, followed by M and individual T² Hotelling control charts to evaluate process stability. Process capability analysis was used to assess compliance with quality standards, while Ishikawa diagrams were employed to identify root causes of process variability. Furthermore, MANOVA and ANOVA were conducted to examine differences in test results between vendors. The Pareto analysis revealed that Nitrate (NO₃–N) and Nitrite (NO₂–N) were the most frequently noncompliant parameters. The M and T² Hotelling control charts indicated that the process was not fully stable, as several observations exceeded control limits. Capability analysis showed that both Nitrate and Nitrite did not meet capability criteria. Ishikawa analysis identified human, material, and method factors as the main contributors to quality nonconformities. The MANOVA and ANOVA results demonstrated significant differences between vendor A and vendor B, with Nitrate contributing most to the observed discrepancies. These findings imply that PT XYZ should prioritize the control of Nitrate and Nitrite through monitoring using SPC control charts, optimization of chemical dosing and operating parameters, enhancement of operator competence and SOP compliance, regular equipment calibration and maintenance, and standardization and validation of laboratory testing methods to ensure consistent and compliant wastewater quality.
