Abstract

Kesadaran akan kesehatan mental, terutama dalam mendampingi teman atau saudara yang mengalami depresi, merupakan salah satu isu penting yang perlu dikomunikasikan kepada remaja saat ini. Komik sebagai media visual yang menarik dapat menjadi sarana edukatif yang efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan tersebut. Perancangan Komik Digital untuk Membangun Kesadaran Remaja terkait Pentingnya Dukungan Dasar Psikologi pada Depresi bertujuan untuk membangun kesadaran remaja tentang gejala depresi dan pentingnya memberikan dukungan dasar psikologis dengan cara yang tepat tanpa menyakiti perasaan penderita depresi. Penelitian dan perancangan komik ini dilakukan dengan metode pendekatan kualitatif, yang mencakup studi literatur mengenai depresi dan dukungan dasar psikologis bagi penderitanya, analisis kuesioner untuk memahami preferensi audiens terhadap format dan gaya visual komik, serta konsultasi dengan sumber terpercaya seperti RS Menur Jawa Timur untuk memastikan validitas informasi yang disajikan. Seluruh hasil riset perancangan ini dibentuk menjadi sebuah komik digital berjudul, “Kamu Tidak Sendiri” yang membahas salah satu permasalahan mental yang umum terjadi pada remaja, yaitu bullying. Komik digital ini memiliki format vertical-scrolling, dengan dua macam penyampaian edukasi yaitu melalui visual narasi cerita komik dan infografis di bagian akhir komik dengan model kognitif, efektif, dan perilaku sebagai tolak ukur membangun kesadaran. Hasil user test menunjukkan, sebagian besar responden secara kognitif dan afektif menjadi sadar akan pentingnya dukungan dasar untuk penderita depresi, tetapi secara perilaku masih ragu untuk melakukannya secara nyata.

Mental health awareness, particularly in supporting friends or relatives experiencing depression, is a crucial issue that needs to be communicated to today's youth. Comics, as an engaging visual medium, can be an effective educational tool for conveying this message. Designing a Digital Comic to Raise Adolescent Awareness of the Importance of Basic Psychological Support for Depression aims to raise adolescent awareness about the symptoms of depression and the importance of providing basic psychological support appropriately without hurting the feelings of those experiencing depression. The research and design of this comic were conducted using a qualitative approach, including a literature review on depression and basic psychological support for sufferers, questionnaire analysis to understand audience preferences for the comic's format and visual style, and consultation with trusted sources such as Menur Hospital in East Java to ensure the validity of the information presented. The results of this design research were then transformed into a digital comic titled "Kamu Tidak Sendiri," which addresses one of the common mental health issues among adolescents, bullying. This digital comic has a vertical-scrolling format, with two educational delivery methods, a visual narrative and an infographic at the end of the comic, also using cognitive, affective, and behavioral models as benchmarks for building awareness. The results of the user test showed that most respondents were cognitively and affectively aware of the importance of basic support for depression sufferers, but behaviorally were still hesitant to actually do it.
